I will miss it greatly when I've got to ramble. Many cameras have stood here with me. The LX5 was nice on a troubled sky last year.
Soon I will make my way away from the coast. It could be for a while this time. Things didn't go as planned. I find myself doing environmental GIS, and not in Portland. I'm reminded of Susanna's song:

Soon, most of my energy will be traveling and practicing mandolin. And shooting the Leica. One of my best friends won't be at the bluegrass festival this year, so it will be different. I haven't played mandolin much at all this year, but as always, I turn to the massive catalog of Monroe instrumentals. Today I practiced Old Dangerfield seriously for the first time. I'm tempted to include a link to a practice run through. I've got plenty of vocal numbers, and would like to add some more. The Old Swinging Bridge went into the hopper in the last year (my quick practice here).
I wasn't serious about living here on the edge. It just happened. I ended up here for most of 2 years. I began with no photography knowledge in late 2009. I had a camera and some time.

I call this house, and houses like it, survivours as many have and are being replaced for infills. West Point Grey is one of Vancouver's most prestigious neighbourhoods, so property values are high. Houses like this don't normally stand a chance around here.

in Pt Pleasant Beach, there was no beach, and instead a river of sorts with a disgusting foam - the water was too rough to swim in
after leaving desert view i went to lipan point, my favorite spot at this end of the canyon......the vermillion cliffs in the distance, the little colorado river canyon in center and comanche point on the right
A long distance shot of Point Bonita Lighthouse just outside the Golden Gate and San Francisco. A still functioning lighthouse although maritime guidance is enhanced with additional GPS, radio beacons, etc. these days. Prior to the Bonita Lighthouse being built (??) and moved to this location in 1877, there were dozens of ships that sank in the fog trying to navigate into San Francisco Bay.
237 Morgan Street, Algiers Point, New Orleans. First house in the neighborhood rebuilt after the Great Algiers Fire of 1895. Residence of jazz legend Emmett Hardy, 1919-1923. Still has many vintage fixtures.

An original intuitive abstract painting. I let the viewer create their own story for a painting. What do you see? What do you feel? What you see is the truth, let your imagination run wild without being given direction. This series is painted on heavy duty acid free artists paper. They are sold unframed but will fit into a standard size frame.
Unframed 25cm x 35cm I use the highest quality acrylic paints and combined techniques of palette knife, brushes, scrapers. Each painting is carefully packaged by me.
