This rare canoe sold on eBay a little while back, and thought I didn't bid, I sure would have loved to. 1870's.

Munra Point is a hiking destination in the Columbia River Gorge Area of Oregon. The trail is unmaintained but in good condition. Parts of the trip are a scramble and there is lots of Poison Oak along the way. There are guide books with better directions, but basically to get to the trail you start at the Wahclella Falls Trailhead and hike west on Gorge Trail # 400 along the Freeway for about a mile. After a mile or so, be on the lookout for a trail that branches off to the left going steeply uphill. If the trail is wet or if it is raining, you might as well turn around as this trail could be potentially hazardous to your health! I was diving through the Gorge on a trip I took to SE Oregon and I stopped along the way to hike Munra as it has been on my list for a long time.

The new terminus for the LUAS Red Line - very convenient for concert goers to the The Point venue.

In Washington DC for the Barbie Convention, I got to walk to Gravelly Point Park - just north of Reagan National Airport in Washington D. C. This is an amazing place to plane watch. These pictures are from the park and a bit from the Mt. Vernon Trail - the path I used to get from the hotel to the park. Gravelly Point Park is in Arlington, Virginia within the National Park Service's George Washington Memorial Parkway. These planes were landing heading south on the airport's main runway (Runway 1/19). Also some shots here of DC's Washington Monument from Gravely Point. Amazing plane watching at DCA.

A few shots from around Bowling Ball Beach. Near Point Arena and located in the Schooner Gulch State Beach, in Mendocino County, California.
The trig point looks old, new trig points look like large metal tripods with a black circle on the top. This one was a pile of stones (I added one) with a sheep skull on the top.

Sunset on Vermilion Bay at Cypremort Point LA in November 2010. This is an HDR image... High Dynamic Range. It was three separate images of the exact same scene on a tripod, then combined with special software to show the complete tonal range of the photograph.
