I was driving by the N6 back to Paris when on the left side of th road, I saw this abandoned Hotel Restaurant. I did a U turn where I could and parked along the fence.
The sun was setting with the soft light of February. Winter wasn't cold at all. I only had my pocket camera ready and easily jumped over the fence, after checking for 2-3 minutes if there was any alarm or people inside. I never intend to do anything else than picture a place, when I find something. I never move or take any object. The place looked like an apocalypse scene in the late 1970s.
I took this first image, and suddenly ... two barking dogs were running in my direction. I jumped back and luckily stood outside in a second. Once outside, I turned around to look at the two animals on the other side the fence. One only had three legs, the other one looked really ill with spots of missing fur. They seemed to be asking fo care and love more than trying to scare me away. They were as abandoned as the place, but what could I do ? It simply broke my heart.
Enjoying an evening stroll through a local nature reserve. I decided to bring along my old Canon Digital IXUS 90 IS alongside my main gear just to see if it still had some life in it.
I haven’t used this point-and-shoot since around 2010. I was surprised to find the battery still holds a charge and works perfectly!

My Simson scooter recently restored was vandalized in the street after this picture. I gave up and it was sold in spare parts.
I'm missing the mountains today. It's been a crazy dry summer and fall here in Arkansas. The last few days, we've been getting all the rain at once, haha. Of course, the one day I had off and tried to get out with the camera was one of those days.
Anyway, here's a wonderful view of the rocky mountains in Western CO.

I spotted this awesome scene on a walk through the neighborhood with my wife the other night. I've been playing around with this little camera to reboot my idea to review a bunch of old points and shoot cameras on my website, so I luckily had it with me.
Kodak film + Kodak Pocket Instamatic 200
Pictured in Spain in summer 1984. Instamatic camera, Kodak film.
It's not an Ami 8, since this is a Spanish built Citroën and was named simply 8 on the market. This car probably had an accident, and the owner temporarily fixed it with tape.

I just finished my Olympus XA review last week, and it's got me reminiscing on my last trip to Colorado. I've got photos of this waterfall on 110 film prints that have the fence in the foreground, because I was too short to see over it when I first took photos here, haha.

I'd bet if scientists wanted to research the water flow at this falls since the mid 1900s, my family could provide them with plenty of research material!
