A plant grows in the desert of Nevada’s Spring Mountain Ranch State Park on the outskirts of Las Vegas.
The plant's name is unknown. Several months ago I tried a few minimalist shots. This was one of several that I had not posted. (Morgan County, Alabama - 2015)
Un mélange de 2 photos: une photo de racines aériennes d'une fougère et la photo d'un arbre en métal ciselé qui orne un mur de notre cuisine.
Dans Photoshop, la photo de racines a servi de photo de fond et a été répliquée et traitée selon plusieurs modes de fusion ("Screen", "Linear Dodge", "Color Burn". Chaque copie a été décentrée (ou inversée) afin de créer l'impression de multitude. La photo de l'arbre, en noir et blanc, a été intégrée en mode "Subtract". Au final, un calque de tonalité a été ajouté afin de sélectionner la tonalité qui me plaisait le plus.
Au final, j'aime bien cette impression que certaines racines passent derrière l'arbre ainsi que la présence de certaines racines bleues.

Chives are a species of flowering plant that produces edible leaves and flowers. Their close relatives include the common onions, garlic, shallot, leek, scallion and Chinese onion. A perennial plant, it is widespread in nature across much of Europe, Asia, and North America.
Chives are a commonly used herb. In culinary use the green stalks (scapes) and the unopened, immature flower buds are diced and used as an ingredient for omelettes, fish, potatoes, soups, and many other dishes. The edible flowers can be used in salads. The flowers are pale purple and star-shaped with six petals.
Chives have insect-repelling properties that can be used in gardens to control pests.
The plant provides a great deal of nectar for pollinators. It was rated in the top 10 for most nectar production in a UK plants survey conducted by the AgriLand project which is supported by the UK Insect Pollinators Initiative.

Water plants in a wetlands pond enveloped by tule fog.
When I photograph in wetlands country I am always fascinated by plants that grow in the shallow water, and especially by the stark forms of winter-dormant plants. The background of water — often reflecting sky — lets us see the forms of the plants without the distractions that would render them hard to see in dry areas.
Here I had an added advantage from tule fog that obscured anything more than a few yards away from me. (Note that the more distant plants at upper left are already muted by the fog.) The air was also fairly still — or the fog would have dissipated. This helped to smooth the surface of the water, leaving just enough rippling to add a bit of texture suggesting the watery background

Very small flower bud (about 5mm) on some succulent plant in the flowerpot. All of them were buds so I don't know what it is.
