No one remembered to put in their original teeth
at the plant nursing home
so they can’t tell the nurses and aides
to turn off Fox news
and they wither like they’ve been
left for an eternity to suffer
for all their long lost sins.

One of the borders in our garden.
I thought I would sprinkle in a few photos of the garden whilst waiting for the guests to arrive and the party to begin.
When we moved here 11 years ago there were no flowers or shrubs, just over half an acre of paddock grass with a few established trees, some alder on the river bank, couple of ash, couple very old apple trees, and a couple of nut trees. My wife has since planted nigh 50 trees at a guess, cherries, fruit, birches, maple and other ornamentals, not to mention countless shrubs and plants. The garden is on two levels, the upper being 10' or 12' higher than the lower. The higher my wife has laid out more formally whilst the lower half, next to the river, she has created in a more casual cottage style with a little woodland area also. You can look down on the lower area from the upper quite clearly. All thought, design, graft, planting and arrangement is entirely my wife's work, initially with her assistant Freddie, now little Hugo.
This border is on the lower part leading to the little woodland
area.

Pitcher plants are several different carnivorous plants which have modified leaves known as pitfall traps—a prey-trapping mechanism featuring a deep cavity filled with digestive liquid. The traps of what are considered to be "true" pitcher plants are formed by specialized leaves. Wikipedia
Probably the best I've seen these fascinating plants.
Coal fired power plant, two blocks with 757 MW in total. One block now in demolition/deconstruction.
This encounter with a blooming plant made me especially happy. When walking back to my parked vehicle, I spied a burst of yellow out of the corner of my eye. Fortunately I'd been taking pictures earlier in the day and had my macro lens with me. I sprinted to my car to retrieve my macro lens and spent many happy minutes taking in the thin filaments of white with their yellow anthers. As Henri Matisse said, "There are always flowers for those who want to see them."
I'm thinking once I learn to grow right where I'm planted,
Maybe that's when life starts getting good...
