We have a huge bush of these rose-of-sharon flowers growing on our side yard. I've been trying to get a picture of them for a few days, but they've always been wilted when I went to try until today. This was the best out of the few shots I got. :D
Wallace Community College student Cassandra Gifford of Eufaula recently restored a 1952 Ford 8N tractor and painted it pink. She now tours with the tractor, named "Hope," and raises money to help local women who need assistance pay for mammograms. Gifford said her FFA adviser, Buster Padgett, inspired her to start the project. She hopes to become an FFA adviser after finishing school.
Pink Petals
This beautiful soft pink flower is decorated with Swarovski crystals. Various shapes and sizes create lovely texture and shine. (the photograph truly doesn't do this piece justice..it REALLY SPARKLES in person)
Feminine and soft these make the perfect accessory for weddings and any other special events. Classic and beautiful this can be worn with everything! Approximately 3 inches around. Double prong clip secures this piece in any hair style.
Pink Peony in our garden. Original colors... no postprocessing, only cropped.
The peony or paeony (Paeonia) is named after Paeon or Paean, a student of Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine and healing. Asclepius became jealous of his pupil; Zeus saved Paeon from the wrath of Asclepius by turning him into the peony flower.
It seems like I am surrounded by pink right now...lots pink fabric in my sewing room, this bleeding heart, creeping phlox, apple blossoms, cherry blossoms, etc. (Not that I am complaining!)
Missed me :D ??
On day whatever it was I introduced you to Drobo. He's great :) However, to get our lives onto Drobo took a little more time than anticipated. Thus I've not been able to do anything properly computer related since errrm, about Thursday! Sorry ;)
On Friday when I got home from work to be honest I really couldn't be bothered with anything vaguely techinical, so I plonked a couple of gerberas in the living room and bolted my Ikea fluorescent lights to the coffee table and hoped for the best. Think they came out okay for a bodge job!!

one of my all time favorite poems:
The rose
Some say love, it is a river, that drowns the tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor, that leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need
I say love, it is a flower, and you, its only seed
Its the heart afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance
Its the dream afraid of waking, that never takes the chance
Its the one who wont be taken, the one who cant seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying, that never learns to live
When the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong
Just remember that in the winter, far beneath the bitter snow
Lies the seed, that with the suns love in the spring becomes the rose.

Something to brighten your day...if you suffer from the same 'depression' I do...brought on by the one week long darkness, dampness and unrelenting rain NYC and most likely majority the East Coast is experiencing.
We had around 15 inches of rain in 8 days, which is more than double of the monthly average. Had this all been snow, we'd be buried under 110 inches according to one of the local radio stations. Hmmm....I guess, putting it into this perspective....I'll take the rain.
I am hoping the sun will shine this weekend :))
