Strobist details: Gridded stripbox with the front removed and a pink gel with a 285HV to the right, Umbrella with 285HV to the left. Left side triggered with a Phottix Ares, right side triggered optically.
Delicate daintiness graces the summer garden with subtle pastel tones. We like to have blooms of every hue in our rose-garden yet the pale pink rose always shall remain the fondest of favourites.
This is SOOC excluding the crop and framing.
This image was captered with my nikon D80 and 50mm lens with an old sears x4 magnification filter attached. Light provided by my SB800 flash in TTL mode, on camera and position up and slightly back (to compensate for downward angle of the shot) to bounce directly of ceiling.

I made this cake for my Mum's friend's daughter. She told me she wanted a cake with pink cherry blossoms, and when they came over to talk about it, she brought a paper crane with her and said she'd like to incorporate that somehow, as she has paper cranes all over her bedroom. So she made the crane topper, and I used Makiko Searle's falling blossom cake as my inspiration for the cherry blossoms.
Pink Azaleas are blooming all around town at the moment. I took a few shots ... well, lots actually ... near the Bowling Club when I picked up my husband. He had enough time for a power nap!
I think this variety is called Alphonse Anderson. It is a hardy variety which explains why there are so many in flower in town at the moment.
It was a busy day. I hadn't planned my "creative thing" for the day and was looking for something. I came across this origami pattern in one of my books and found a pink sheet of paper and out came a wrinkled pink elephant! I am reminded of the stuffed pink elephant toy I had as a child. And maybe I should drink more??

I love hydrangea - be prepared (when the rest of them come out) for many more different colours.
Apparently it depends on the soil whether acidic or alkaline which determines the colour of the plant. Just don't ask me which type of soil turns them blue and which pink :-)
Ok, I googled and seems the more acidic the soil, the bluer the bloom :-)
Much better Large On Black
I was in Flushing Meadow Park yesterday taking some spring stuff and spotted this pink beauty. Unfortunately, the flowers were in an awkward position where if you stand up you wouldn't get the right angle, but if you knee down, you'd be too far away from them to get a close up shot (you know one of those time you with your DSLR got a top viewfinder). So, I did some experiment with this shot by placing my camera right underneath them and shoot without looking at the viewfinder. Took me couple shots to get it right, but I'm thrilled with the result. Gotta love those pink bokeh!
