Another picture of my magenta pink Phalaenopsis orchid which blooms for weeks on end. It brightens my day when the light catches its silken beauty. It currently has two flowering stems.

Pink cosmos petals remind me of a skirt that was my favourite when I was a girl.

A birthday cake done for a 2nd birthday for my brother-in-law's co-worker (boss). It is a vanilla cake with light pink IMBC filling and icing, covered in fondant flowers. The only request from the mom was that it have pink flowers. Hope that Sophia had a great birthday.
Although I've been trying to broaden the range of subjects I photograph, I can't resist spring flowers. This camellia seemed to be basking in filtered sunlight this morning. What a wonderful shade of pink! Even better in the large size.
I think it looks a little like a pink jellyfish. I hope you enjoy.

This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago in Kungsträdgården (King's Garden) or popularly "Kungsan", one of the parks in central Stockholm.
The park's central location and its outdoor cafés makes it one of the most popular hangouts and meeting places in Stockholm. It also hosts open-air concerts and events in summer, while offering an ice rink during winters.
During the Middle Ages it served as a kitchen garden for the court. It was long the sole province of royalty.
The first Swedish arts and industry exhibition was held here in 1866.
Kungsträdgården was also the scene of the "battle of the elms", when its elms were slated to be felled to make room for an underground station. Ultimately, they were spared the axe and the station was built a short distance from the park.
The northern section of the park was given a facelift in 1998, and I believe the Japanese cherry trees were planted there then.
