Back at Duke Farm in Somerville, NJ. Never went on a weekend day before. The parking lot was full, but it covers so much ground that it didn't feel crowded at all, & it was great seeing families out enjoying the day, walking or biking.

Seeing those pink clouds in the sky, I needed to find some pink objects in the foreground. I finally found them.

These daisy petals are actually a very deep red, I took this photo at dusk with a flash, so now they are pink.

Last year I planted a beautiful bush/tree in our backyard, cornus kousa. Sadly it did not bloom, so I was left to wonder about its beauty.
But this year I was not left to my imagination, for over a month now, it is blooming beautifully, I can hardly wait for the whole bush to grow bigger, its gonna be spectacular.

I almost had a little squeal of delight when I saw Anemones in the shops a couple of weeks' ago. They are one of my favourite flowers to photograph, and the perfect excuse to reacquaint myself with my macro lens. Be warned though - I'm back in my comfort zone, and tulips are next on my list!

This plant probably has been in cultivation since prehistoric times by the Indigenous peoples of South America and Mesoamerica. Sims and Edwards state that it was discovered by the celebrated travellers Humboldt and Bonpland in April 1801, near the small village of Turbaco, near Cartagena, Colombia. Reported by Bonpland to have first flowered at Château de Malmaison and at the Botanical Garden of Montpellier, France. Said to have come from Colombia, but may have originated in Southern Mexico.
