An unrecorded Class 43 locomotive pulls into platform 1 at London Paddington station, possibly with the empty coaching stock for 1C89, the 16:33 London Paddington to Exeter St Davids service on Friday 13th October 2017. Meanwhile on platform 3, sister locomotive No. 43124 has just arrived with 1A21, the 14:30 service from Bristol Temple Meads.

Since I uploaded this image today my Flickr photostream has passed the five million views mark - thanks everyone for your continued interest and support.
180 odd shots aimlessly fired off tonight before I arrived at this one. I was faffing about shining lights through this sheet metal with holes in before I thought I should stick it in front of the lens instead. A few shots fired off until I managed to align my eyes with a couple of holes.
Lit with 2 bare flashes on 1/2 power from either side.
This is number 294 of my 366.
This morning was filled with a dark light if any over the grand Lake Superior making it look and feel very ominous. It was still very beautiful, but also very humbling as we felt so very small in the scale of it all.
You can see by the background, this girl was in the crowd. It was for one of the performances in the Bath Fringe Festival. She had a lot of piercings in her ear and a couple in her nose. Her whole dress and demeanour seemed to be of the grunge sort of look, but still a pretty girl.

This is a shot of the spot where the church of St. John once stood in Ioannina, Greece, within the North-Eastern citadel of the Castle. It is in the church's place that Aslan Pasha's mosque was built in the early 17th century (c.1618). The mosque has got a square floor plan; in its South-Western corner stairs lead up to the minaret.
The minaret is as tall and thin as a sudden Scream PIERCING the heavens' Silence and Serenity! It was from up there that Muslims were loudly called for prayer by the muezzin. The presence of so many Ottoman buildings in the town awakens painful memories of four hundred and eighty three years (1430–1913) of Turkish occupation—oppression, blood, tears and martyrdom. It also reminds us of the horrendous events that occurred in Constantinople in early September 1955.
Since 1930 the Municipal Museum of the city of Ioannina has been housed in the mosque; a Greek, a Jewish and a Turkish collection are exhibited there.

Austin is known for its wild and crazy 6th street. This body piercing place attracts many an ill-advised visit after a long night of ill-advised drinking! Actually, I think body-piercings are cool, so I wish more people would be ill-advised.
