These things are fantastic: there are rubbery inserts I can zip out from the soles and microwave for warmth :-)

Sunday, 10 July 2011.

This weekend I:

* Watch Rob play in a doubles tournament

* Experience an incredibly intense thunderstorm

* Help out in the squash kitchen

* Watch "Bad Teacher"

* Eat guacamole and chips

* Hang out with an old friend

* Make gluten free peanut butter and jelly cookies

* Come 2nd in my work's quiz night

* Comfort two very scared dogs

* Have a lovely vegetable pie made for me by Rob

* Go out for lunch with friends

* Celebrate leadership week (and receive some snazzy red socks)

My return to work was short lived because I am now on bereavement leave. Sit in the sun on the grass with Gracie and practice the reading I will be doing at my Gran's funeral on Friday.

Day226, Caitlin in Blue

Get very, very, very upset when I hear there has been a major change of plans with our house. Have a major meltdown and spend most of the afternoon crying. Thankfully I have no makeup on and am working from home.

Thursday, 12 August 2010.

I plan on IDCLIPping my way behind him and shooting John Romero's head a few times.

The American rugby team arrive.

A freezer full of Feijoa ice cream.... Greg gets me a ridiculous deal on Rush Munro ice cream - $1 for 1 litre! I can't resist and get 5 litres. Sense the demise of my diet before I've even kicked-off my pre-birthday healthy eating regime...

You're probably wondering why I have a photo of a tablespoon of sugar on here. Well, I used this for a project I was doing for my Toxicology class. I used this to show a possibly lethal dose of a given chemical that is a white crystalline solid, like sugar. Don't worry, sugar isn't toxic. Could you imagine if it was?!

I'd made cookies the night before, to take along to the reading group I was co-running at work. Cookies in the kitchen in the morning is a nice sight :-)

Pesto for Morgan, nothing terribly exciting. It was a busy day and I didn't have a lot of time to look for pictures.

Domenik finally was allowed back on the beach!! He had a great time. It's the first time he's actually been in the waves and wash - it was quite interesting the first few times he dealt with waves - a few dunks before he realised how to stand his ground LOL

This was taken at the Bluff, Devonport. I was playing with my new polarisor filter.

BTW - I love looking at his nearly straight feet - there's still room for improvement but they're so much better already!!!

Seeing #Red

“Maybe it’s not about having a beautiful day, but about finding beautiful moments. Maybe a whole day is just too much to ask. I could choose to believe that in every day, in all things, no matter how dark and ugly, there are shards of beauty if I look for them.”

We were graced by the presence of one of my best friends from high school this past weekend. Marissa flew in from Maui on Friday night and came to our house for the night. We ate too much and stayed up too late but it was awesome. Here is Marissa drinking some french press coffee out of a mug Heather made.

My cousin Janet got married! Here she is with her new husband Dave, being covered in confetti :-)

2nd January (iPhone)

Here is a complimentary lobby entrance view to yesterday's photo. It features one of two glass sculpture chandeliers designed by glass master Dale Chihuly specifically for the block-long lobby of Benaroya Hall.

baltimore - home - last week I started an etsy store. I have been a lurker and frankly, in love, with the concept and the community. So I figured - well, why not try it myself.

I've been lucky in so far as I have made a few sales fairly quickly. I know I won't get rich off this but I love doing projects like this and who knows, maybe I will be able to sell enough work to save up for a new lens or something else. Tonight I have been making promotional giveaway cards for some people who will pass them around to promote me as well as other etsy shops and the site itself. If you don't know about etsy, check it out, it is really a great concept.

But for now I am just having fun with it... listing photographs, making cards and liquidating some old bead stock I have had sitting around for years doing nothing... so far only one photo related item sold and several bead lots - but again, it's only been a week!

My bay window gained its annual collection of dirt in pots :-)

I went to Cambridge! Miri and I got the bus through from Ox together (3.5 hours -- good to have company!), then went our separate ways to visit our respective weekend hosts. Chris and I headed to the Rainbow Cafe to catch up and have a lovely meal :-)
