8/3/13. Spent the day driving south along this dirt road until we hit a locked gate (granted, there was a fork in the road, and who knows what would have happened if we'd taken the left fork). Then drove back north and down to the coast. Hit one wilderness camp along the way, met up with two hikers, and discovered a cypress grove. The pointy peak in the way background of this shot is Cone Peak. It was sort of our sentinel as we drove through this area these couple of days.
Favorites (so far) from my 2012 iPhone photo-a-day project. Various apps used, but all processing done on the iPhone.
This is an unintentional tribute to Carolinabena. It wasn't going to be my photo for today but the one I intend to use isn't worth posting.
I'm looking after our neighbours' chickens, turkeys and guinea pigs whilst the neighbours are on holiday this week. One of their chickens laid the massive egg on the left. It weighed in at 102g compared with the beautiful and normal sized specimen (70g).
The out of focus two pence piece is for scale as I don't have a Wol!
Sara-Rose and Beth had a combined birthday party at Corridor in Newtown tonight, which was great fun.
The place is full of beautiful stencil art and this one seems to kind of be their signature.
Chad and I decided to not really do anything special for Valentine's day. We had to have someone come out to try to roto-rooter our sewer line because it was backing up into our house. They didn't leave until 8 pm, so then we went out for pizza and it was really tasty! For my photo of the day, I'm posting an updated picture of the insane pussy willows!
Day 249 -
Went to the casino for dinner....entered with $20, came out with $290 so thought I'd treat myself to a case of beer! :-D
I went for a bike ride to Wolvercote via Port Meadow in the glorious sunshine. Here I caught boats, cows, geese, grass, river and blue sky all in one shot.

My return to work was short lived because I am now on bereavement leave. Sit in the sun on the grass with Gracie and practice the reading I will be doing at my Gran's funeral on Friday.

F is reading more and more- she was just reading at bedtime leaning against me . Such a good feeling
Get very, very, very upset when I hear there has been a major change of plans with our house. Have a major meltdown and spend most of the afternoon crying. Thankfully I have no makeup on and am working from home.

A freezer full of Feijoa ice cream.... Greg gets me a ridiculous deal on Rush Munro ice cream - $1 for 1 litre! I can't resist and get 5 litres. Sense the demise of my diet before I've even kicked-off my pre-birthday healthy eating regime...

You're probably wondering why I have a photo of a tablespoon of sugar on here. Well, I used this for a project I was doing for my Toxicology class. I used this to show a possibly lethal dose of a given chemical that is a white crystalline solid, like sugar. Don't worry, sugar isn't toxic. Could you imagine if it was?!
