Photo a Day 22.2.2011. I know this looks at first glance like another tree shot, but it's the birds I'm photographing. Coming out from having my haircut, I notice the row of trees in the precint are full of tweeting birds. Expecting starlings, I was surprised to see they weren't, insteady the four trees contain at least 100 long-tailed tits (I think). I have a short video clip too.
I think this kid has had the most Photo-a-Day pics! He seems to be with me the most lately. He doesn't like to look the camera in the "eye", but a little tickle helps. He came to me today and said, "Here mom, this is for you! I got it in my nose." It was the sweetest booger ever!
There's a collection of metal sunflowers up at the Nuffield Orthopaedic centre, where I'd just had a back appointment.
Jenni came to lead an ousfg discussion meeting on philosophy in SF, and to tell us about the Nine Worlds con she's helping to organise. I think the words "steampunk ceilidh" were something of a clincher for me :-P
At 9:15am Amy, Andy & Kelli Hall (Andy is another first-year-experience RD = there are 3 of us) and I loaded up the car and visited Daybreak Church for the first time. It's roughly 5mins away from campus, which is nice. Afterwards we went out for brunch at Cracker Barrel (ahh, the comfort food of an 'Old Timers' breakfast!). It's great to be in the presence of new friends/co-workers while trying something new...it makes it not as intimidating.
I liked the three little snowballs balanced on top of the sculpture thing there, near the war memorial at the top of St.Giles.
Teo paid a flying visit to the lab today! :-) I persuaded him to be Mr.Monday, so here he is sliding down the stairs...
The dogs play in the fallen leaves before I go to work (actually Gracie just eats them).
