Double drink time.

Friday, 23 September 2011

Took a walk at lunchtime with Katie, Jem & Rohini, just to stretch our legs before we hit the grind again.

Yep - Sunsets are cliche. I love them anyway especially on a crisp autumn evening like this one.

JETS TO BRAZIL - "Autumn Walker"

Hello, old friend. It's been a while. How you been?

All things must end, but did you know what that meant?

The birds fly south. The summer sets.

The lights go out. Leaves on the ground.

Autumn walker, you just walked out.

And I see it now.

That it's so much easier alone,

and you don't have to worry about me.

It's all good. It's all wrong.

And I hope you find the place and the people that you need.

I don't want to be the one who always waits for you to wait and see.

What makes you run? Was it me or anyone?

It goes to show when people grow,

people go and there you go autumn walker.

Stay now, autumn walker.

Drink down your doubt.

A glass half empty can empty you out.

My heart is full of promises that drank me whole.

And I see it now.

That it's so much easier alone.

But you don't have to go very far 'cause where you go, there you are.

And it shouldn't be so hard to see your friends.

That's who they are.

I don't mean to tell you how to run your life, but make up your heart.

You go too far.

In the atmosphere, you fall apart.

More miles than my car's got on it.

That's pretty far.

Well...."no more drunken photography" as per my last photo, lasted one day!

Day 173, Lily in Soft Light

I ended up going for a late-afternoon cycle ride to the top of South Park, just to get out and about a bit. This neat fungus stuff was growing on the remains of a felled tree there.

Apparently, all the red traffic lights in town near the King's Arms had lovehearts inserted on Valentine's day. I spent most of that day in bed with a pretty high fever, though I read people's mentions of them on FaceBook. It was nice to see them still there a few days later :-)

Pippin passed his viva with minor corrections. He seemed a little zonked. And yes, our wall calendar there really was still on September at this point :-P

This is Cynthia's neatest nail art yet! This photo was taken somewhere on the London Underground as we made our way to somewhere in East London for a gig involving the Mechanisms, CN Lester and the Indelicates.

My garden has a definite coating of snow!

Day 161, Shrub in Golden Light

I just saw this on Cornmarket..

A small group of Intermezzo people rehearsing in Hertford chapel.

Poor Rob out in the rain measuring our house with my Dad. After an Easter weekend filled with glorious sunshine it pours with rain today and so I laze about with Katie and Rob eating the last of my chocolate and nodding off on the couch. Back to work tomorrow...

Today was Alannah's last day at the playgroup we have attended since late September. She started at 9 weeks old and couldn't even hold her head up.

We leave work at 3pm for my floor's Christmas party at Greg's house. It turns out to be a bit of a late one and Rob encourages everyone to start arm wrestling...
