The storm knocks the peaches off Mum's tree. Survey the damage at her house and muster up all my courage to scoot under the massive tree blocking her driveway.
Sunday, 4 March 2012.
This weekend I:
* Ride out the storm
* Brave the weather for movie supplies
* Go to the musician's club
* Am entertained by Louise's late night texts
* Celebrate Kritzo's birthday
* Am housebound for a while
* Embrace the wintry blast by cranking up the heater
* Explore the storm damage
* Listen to the howl
* Watch 'Hugo'
* Have dinner at Rob's Dad's
* Lose power (it is still not on five days later!)
* Seek shelter at the hotel
* Play with Sam, Maxim and Asta (and watch lots of plane, boat and truck clips)
* Eat apple pie
* Lie in the Sunday afternoon sun and read my book
Wrap a ton of presents - all of the things I've ordered online start arriving!

Take the day off because Rob's family are in town. Start the day off with brunch.

So many of the Indian tourists around Hampi were terribly keen to have us take their photos, or have their pictures taken with us if they were well off enough to have cameras. The people who really wanted their pictures taken all looked pretty serious in the shots, but laughed and had great fun when I showed them the result straight afterwards on the cameras' screens.
Today we had a bit of an accident, well Domenik did... We allowed him some nappy free time and errrm well, let's say approximately 5 minutes after letting him around the corner, out of my sight I could smell something from where he was playing... You can pretty much guess what he had done... Problem being I hadn't put socks over his casts so they were a bit of a mess - meaning the casts had to come off!!!
So, we took off the fibreglass (it's special stuff that you can unwind off) and into a bath to soften and soak the plaster off. The ultimate reward was taking the casts off and letting Dommy have a play with nothing on his feet at all!!!
Because it was only 2 days until they were due to be off we haven't had to worry about getting new ones on - he's fully cast free!!! Yaaay!! Boots and bar are still being fitted on Wed.. that could be interesting LOL
Tis spring. And, thus, Daisy gets a damn good seeing-to to get her ready for the season's coming blats along the highways and byeways of carrot land. Scrubbed to within an inch of her life, here she is on her paddock stand.
Cynthia turned up prepared for the all-the-films-in-a-row Star Trek marathon, in a uniform top which was actually one of those really short dresses. I stuck around for the first film or two, then went home to eat and sleep, before returning for the first reboot film the next day...

endless thanks to those that have stuck with me,
those that have inspired me,
those that have taught me,
those that have made me laugh,
and those i can call friends ... cheers
In celebration of my impending not-move (in which, for the first time since leaving my parents' house seven years ago, I'm renewing a lease), I'm going to try to revisit as many of the places where I've lived as possible. It's not likely that I'll make it to NYC or the Berkshires, but I'm sure I can do Memphis (only one house, and my parents still live there) and Chicago (three dorms and three apartments before this one).
This is me in front of Burton-Judson Courts (B-J) on 60th Street. B-J, one of the last real Gothic buildings put up on the University of Chicago campus, was designed in 1931 by the firm Zantzinger, Borie and Medarie. The interiors are spare but well-finished, mostly single rooms with large closets and wonderful terrazzo floors. I lived here from February or March until May 2004.
