I think this photograph is well composed. The path acts as a lead-in line to the house in the background, but the bushes stand perfectly at the sides. The texture in the shot is what I believe draws attention. The contrasting texture of the brick path and the bushes that surround it work well together.
During the first night at Zion, I spotted a deer that was actually local to the area often standing on the outskirts of the village. after following the deer I asked my Dad to face car headlights towards it in order to capture it more easily. at this moment I noticed that there was a strong silhouette cast behind that seemed like a cave painting and so I changed focus onto the wall. it's one of my favourite photographs, there is something about the images candid framing and the fact the deer is looking at its own shadow that really resonates with me.

Sara Thomas is 11 and plans to be a veterinarian to help animals when she’s old enough. She’s very soft spoken but knows her rugby and it runs in the family as her father used to play as well. She’s in the “middis” age group with Regina Mini Rugby. Photo by Heidi Atter.
