The mist rolls over the sea and reaches the coast of Fårö. A lonely pine tree clings to the ground and struggles to set root. The ground is hard but the air is soft as silk. I feel the smell of the ocean when I slowly compose my image and press the shutter. Just in that split moment i realize that i have etarnalized a Life.

This collapsing old farmhouse in Edwards, Ontario, still stands but barely. I was surprised to see it still up after having photographed it several years ago, in much the same condition.
After 20 years of occasional attempts to capture freight in the Southern Uplands in good weather I was finally rewarded on my latest Anglo-Scottish road trip. 66518 heads South with the 4M30 Grangemouth - Daventry intermodal near Crawford. In an incredible coincidence, the same train passed me just as I stepped out of the car at home in Atherstone some 8 hours later after our separate journeys South.
One of the 10 "Royal Beasts". The griffin, used in heraldry since the twelfth century was first used as a royal symbol by King Edward III, (1312 - 1377). It stood for courage and perseverance.

I was so delighted by Cologne Cathedral, the music imprinted in stone lace of this giant. So ...I took this image for defining of word CATHEDRAL.
Cologne Cathedral (German: Kölner Dom, officially Hohe Domkirche St. Peter und Maria) is a Roman Catholic church in Cologne, Germany. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Cologne, and is under the administration of the archdiocese of Cologne. It is renowned as a monument of Christianity, of German Catholicism in particular, of Gothic architecture and of the continuing faith and perseverance of the people of the city in which it stands. It is dedicated to Saint Peter and the Blessed Virgin Mary. The cathedral is a World Heritage Site, one of the best-known architectural monuments in Germany, and Cologne's most famous landmark, described by UNESCO as an "exceptional work of human creative genius".
Construction of Cologne Cathedral began in 1248 and took, with interruptions, until 1880 to complete. It is 144.5 meters long, 86.5 m wide and its towers are approximately 157 m tall. The cathedral is one of the world's largest churches and the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe. For four years, 1880-84, it was the tallest structure in the world, until the completion of the Washington Monument. It has the second-tallest church spires, only surpassed by the single spire of Ulm Minster, completed 10 years later in 1890. Because of its enormous twin spires, it also presents the largest facade of any church in the world. One of the Treasures of the cathedral is the High Altar which was installed in 1322. It is constructed of black marble, with a solid slab 15 feet long forming the top. The front and sides are overlaid with white marble niches into which are set figures, with the Coronation of the Virgin. There is a lot of great wooden sculptures and other art treasures inside the interior of CATHEDRAL.

Last autumn I was depressed again and a good person asked me "how are you". That was a rare case when I replied honestly that everything's not okay (without telling any details, though). Then she said I can handle it and sent me a yellow flower emoji (not a sunflower, that's different emoji... the one which appears as white flower on some platforms like Twitter). For some reason that helped me a lot, and that story inspired this picture. :)
Well, the sad thing is that both main and secondary reason why I was depressed back then are still there, because it doesn't depend on me.
Anyway, it was a hard week so I'm posting it for everyone who needs support, including those people which existence is now denied in a law in my country.
Storbist facts: One flash with 2 blue gels for the backround (1/32 power), another flash with snoot on light stand 1,5 meter over the doll(1/128 power). Both flash triggered by Cactus V.4 triggers.Some flare texture for the backround.
The difference between perseverance and obstinacy is that one comes from a strong will, and the other from a strong won't.

The Perseverance Trail, which starts where today’s Basin Road ends, continues along the original route, which includes a cragged section called The Horn where there’s a steep drop-off down to the creek.
At the end of it is where Perseverance Trail begins, and this former rail line (named for the mine it once serviced) quickly climbs up above the Gold Creek valley. There’s plenty to see along the way, including old mine shafts that blow cool winds, and a stretch of trail where the mountain drops steeply away to Gold Creek.

Here the tower has been reworked. The buttresses are thinkened, and additional openwork has been added at the top. Looking at photo resources showed that the peaks over gothic arches tend to get darker over time (probably from soot) and so they have been repainted.
This picture was taken by the Mastcam-Z camera aboard Perseverance rover on sol 1268 (September 13th, 2024) at 12:40 pm.
This 22cm-wide rock could be magmatic. It looks like a gabbro.
