It was night at a freezing farm in a beautiful village. The sky was bejeweled with diamonds crafted millions of years ago by the creator himself.
Right there, in the centre, lay the king of them all that watched its subjects go about their work beautifully while it sat snugly in the lap of the night. The cool breeze sent shivers down my spine but I couldn't quite blame it. I could see it already.
The tripod was now fixed and the shutter was locked. Rest of the unending time went into listening to the music from the shutter flip every 30 seconds for the next 2 hours.
It was night at a freezing farm in a beautiful village and now it was there. Right in my camera.

As Longjing (龍井) is a green tea, the real taste profile of a finer Longjing is achieved only by using a Yixing clay teapot, which since the beginning, was popular exactly for preparing green tea. It is not meant to be simmered which will bring out the unpleasant bitterness, the tea is to be boiled with a ~75C water, rest for 30 - 50 seconds and then poured out to a decanter, in order to preserved its taste.
In traditional Chinese society, tea drinking customs hold deeper meaning than its taste, its also a symbol of respect, manners and socialization.
The tea preparation rituals takes good sense of balance and patience.

Cycling, in my humble opinion is perseverance sport. It fact it is the utmost factor of a cyclist's strengths. It is the ability to endure, by definition of endurance means "bearing hardship, staying power".
Whenever seeing cyclists on the road, I always felt excitements. I often admire seeing those cyclists' data having 30km/h average pace at least for a certain distance of ride. Not because they posses some kinda superior genetic ability, it is their mental strength and regular training to persevere through their hardships and struggles. No one makes it to the top without overcoming obstacles, most people tempt to quit halfway. It is that mental determination and the ability to endure that makes the difference between success and failure. Assuredly, when you needed a rest please go on because your body tells you so. Don't be afraid, take the time you require to. You can always keep up your fellow riders in later rest point. That's how I train myself.
Wake up at 430am isn't a fun thing to do. But in order to avoid major traffic on the road, that would be best time to ride between 530 to 6am, especially on Sunday. Given that I'm riding in rain or shine, day or night, and all kinds of routes that I have planned ahead before the actual ride, it comes with a package if I may put it across. The package consists of uphill for me to climb hard enough to the top, wet roads enough to make even more dirt all over my body and the bike itself, raining until barely can see the road and slow down my pace, shine enough to make me dehydrated faster than usual. However, it was fun after all. You will feel good and satisfying after completed a ride.
**Purposely processed the color to distinguish the day and night. By looking at the shot, it is the exact expression how cyclist endure every struggle and overcome it. Because they believe, the best scenic is always awaits them...

As much as I respect the athletes that run such a race, my true admiration goes to those that negotiate the course and compete using other means, such as this individual.

Mars 2020 is NASA’s latest Mars mission. Based on the design of the highly successful Curiosity rover, the mission’s Perseverance rover features a suite of scientific instruments to find out more about a possible history of microbial life on Mars, its climate and geology.
It also features a sample handling system and can store drill core samples in hermetically sealed tubes, to be picked up by a future sample-and-return mission to analyse the samples on earth.
For entry, descent and landing, the mission used again the spectacular skycrane maneuver to safely deliver the rover to the surface on Mars.
The maneuver was captured via several cameras on the Descent Stage, Skycrane and rover, you can watch the breathtaking footage in this video, where it was combined with the corresponding commentary from JPLs control room during the mission:

Part of the mission is Ingenuity, a small, lightweight helicopter. It traveled to mars tucked underneath the rover's chassis and was deployed onto the surface of mars after the landing.
On April 19 2021, Ingenuity achieved the historic first flight of an aircraft on another planet, which was captured by the rover’s cameras:

As of today, the helicopter has conducted 17 flights and continues to hop along Perseverance.

DVT 82223 brings up the rear of an Edinburgh-bound service at Burnmouth, having just crossed the border into Scotland. I have visited this area many times in recent years and this is the first time that the sun has made an appearance.
My first upload in what seems like a while.
This was taken at Portencross last night - I had hoped for a bit of a POW moment, but it was clear for a good while before sunset that it wasn't going to happen.
I stuck around, and just before sunset found this small rockpool and got set up.
The tide was going out, so the midground changed a fair bit over the pictures I took, but I quite like the later ones, as the rocks which had become exposed broke up the mid-ground.

This is what landing on Mars looked like from the perspective of the Perseverance rover at roughly 10km above the surface.
Andrea Luck also made a colorized version of this image
The image is a mosaic assembled from 10 images taken by the Lander Vision System Camera. It was used to optically track the position of the rover and guide it to a safe landing site.
The processed image has a wide FOV of 135° x 145°.

11/52: "Portrait" 52 weeks: the 2012 edition
A busy schedule with school and work but had some time to take a few shots for this week's theme. I had my buddy at work who specializes on portraiture to be a subject and give me a few pointers.
The shots I that chose represented the his current obstacles today. I couldn't imagine the exhaustion and mental strength on balancing school, work and a new born all together. At times I see the stress, the frustration spill over in his mood. Having strong will power and hope directs a positive outcome that will pave way to perseverance.
