Perfect colors on a perfect morning! I guess tomorrow not this kind of reflection in the water with a storm coming up. 😅
We took a break from cabin chores - jumped into our truck, and Doc and I headed out. Driving through an area that is dotted with ponds - I spotted a pair of trumpeter swans sitting on their nest. I hopped out of the passenger side intending to cross the road and grab a few shots. As I shut my door and looked down, I found a large pile of bear scat on the edge of the road. I stepped over it and then looked up - to my surprise this beautiful cow moose stood in a tiny pond that was not visible to the highway due to the dense vegetation. I instantly forgot the swans, why would I capture them when a moose was just a few yards from me. She was in an ideal moose setting, and she let me get as many shots as I wanted. I guess I didn't look too threatening standing there with only a camera.
Practice Makes Perfect - A couple weeks ago, I observed a cooperative immature Red-tailed Hawk on a family hike. I didn't get the shots I wanted that day, but figured I'd try again.
My buddy and I were treated to almost an hour of great passes by this hawk during a windy morning as it practiced hunting and chased a group of Turkey Vultures around. Was a great opportunity to practice bird in flight (BIF) techniques!

Not really. The water on Chequamegon Bay is quite still, the wind having retired. But the water has some energy, like the echo after an orchestra plays the final note.

This guy stood there for a few minutes trying to get the perfect shot of Sakura flowers in High Park. I believe he took a lot of consecutive shots.
Hope you all have a great week ahead!!

Common gull catching a piece of bread on an island.
They were still sitting on a nest, we saw 3 eggs.
I'd like to see the world for once
All standing hand in hand
And hear them echo through the hills
For peace through out the land
(That's the song I hear)
I'd like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
A strenuous and tedious way but always worth it. Not only photo-technically. Arrived up here and to be able to linger is priceless. I listened to the insects on the meadow here still so pleasantly warmed by sunlight before now the clouds took over here. I love these weather changes very much and a pleasant coolness spreads. The thoughts so very free as in a waking dream

Sometimes the sunset fits perfectly between the houses at Feistein lighthouse. Like it did when we visited last week.

Quite an interesting evening I had yesterday :). The little ones were running around like crazy through the field, cautiously being watched by their moms. The title of the image comes from the warm tint that's present because of the sun light shining directly into the lens. The sun was so low that I had trouble seeing them sometimes. In total I've seen 5 roe deer, one of which came within 10 meters. Going back this evening. Lets hope for the best.

Good things come to those who wait! We've had to wait a while until we got perfect conditions for this shot. We sure had a great time sharing this location with our Lake Powell Workshop participants. The water was an absolute mirror-like reflection! If you want to get out and explore some lesser-photographed locations at Lake Powell, come join us for a houseboat adventure in Oct 2022!
A honeycomb cell measures approximately 5mm wide and is constructed from beeswax exuded from a gland on the honeybee’s abdomen. The cell will be used repeatedly either to store honey or raise brood. Brood cells are cleaned and polished with propolis as each new bee emerges, slowly darkening them over one or more seasons. Cells are offset and you can see the structure of the opposite cell when you look through the comb.
This is a photograph of Eihō-ji, a National Treasure of Japan. On the morning of New Year's Day, after a heavy snowfall, the raging wind suddenly subsided. In that fleeting moment, the majestic reflection of Eihō-ji appeared perfectly mirrored in the garden's pond.
When something is so perfect, what do we do wrong in the upbringing of our children?
Perhaps it has to do with:
All the unnecessary yelling instead of actually talking to each other.
Using the You-word, like "You are stupid", instead of being constructive.
Letting our kids have so many activities that there is no time to being bored, no time to dwell and think.
Letting the kids think that "I always need to be good for them to love me".
Could we please stop ruining meals because the grown ups need to talk about serious stuff.
Food never tastes good when there is arguing at the table.
All the evil stuff kids say to each other will probably diminish if every grown up is there for their own child.
Using our spare time to be there for them, does not necessarily mean that you shall build them a castle in the forest, cause that is often not bonding, that is for you to think that you have had quality time with the kids, while they have stood watching.
Just be there, sit together and the child's inner thoughts will come and then you will see Who your child actually is, and may be see what they are struggling with.
Be patient tho, please - Things Take Time TTT 🤔
Many things give us low self esteem which we will struggle with until we manage to deal with it.
Questions like what were they struggling with, the ones that said these awful things to me, might help. What is mine and what is theirs. We don't need to deal with others' stuff, let them deal with it themselves.
Deal with your own stuff, that is normally enough.
Finding the family patterns are very interesting. "We are shy in our family", "We have temper in our family", well it's time to stop and sort it out and use the scissors to cut off the patterns.
Don't bring it on to your children.
You need to start with yourself ♥
All the stuff I am dealing with from my past I often find the answers on either in meditation or out hiking.
Lol, no wonder I am out hiking for hours with all that shit I need to sort out 😂😂😂
Have a spendid week you all 😍
