An abandoned chateau somewhere in Luxembourg - unspoilt, untrashed, unloved and unlived in hence no vandals or thieves have upset the balance of this fine place. Please do not ask for coords as we weren't given them and the day before we ended up in the wrong place looking for this. Was worth it though.

A heap of locations, 1541 KMs driving, a late night rainy steep infiltration to a famous urbex haunt and a day mostly spent driving and walking to some wrong coordinates.

I have shot this location a number of times. I usually prefer to shoot from higher ground to show the train, however with all of the Hooligan fisherman lining the highway I opted to shoot a bit lower to try to eliminate as many cars as possible. Couldn't get them all but most of them. The Whittier freight is northbound at Petersen.

Forth & Clyde Canal

This is an image from our day trip to Glen Coe a week ago, when lets say we had one of the best days photography for a long time. The weather was perfect, the only problem was we left before the stunning sunset that evening, after thinking it wasn't going to turn into anything.

As we were heading back towards Helensburgh and Dumbarton the skies started to do something, going through every possible sunset colour there is. I decided to try and find a subject somewhere nearby and after living in the area for six years I knew a couple of spots. I chose the Forth & Clyde Canal near Bowling.

This was one of those times when the stop paid off and the shot worked out.

PS borders.

I've made lith prints from these very thin 35 mm negs before, now a test to see if it's possible to get some useable standard prints with them. They are ok if you picture them in the first minutes of dawn, there's simply not more light available.

Some flowers go together so very well, like these pink Tulips with the blue Hyacinths.

Perfect.

All from the shops!

From the archives. A beautiful September morning at Midden Delfland with a promise for a perfect day :-)

.... a reminder of the season gone by as the winter approaches

A male Dickcissel singing his little heart out. I do not often see these amazing little migrators. Beautiful little guy and sings some great songs. Too bad they are saddled with such an unusual name. They were actually named after one of their songs.

Shrimping starts off the pier the last of July through September according to those I talked to when visiting. This man was trying to catch bait for a fishing trip, but he wasn't young and threw it so much that he had to be tired! I was so excited to see this action and was hoping to catch that net in action against the sun.

Featuring some of my favorite lighting I’ve had at the canal for a while, the Hon. James L. Oberstar of the Interlake Steamship Company ventures under the famous Duluth lift bridge while the tour boat Vista Star gets nice and close for passengers to admire the big freighter. For as much as I would have preferred for the Star to be just a little farther back, I can’t fault her Captain for giving his guests a view I’m sure none of them will forget.

After a week full of rain and wind storms in Victoria, this day was a real treat before going back home.

Warm sun, warm colours. Perfect endings!

Landscape shot across a frozen lake showing rolling hills in the distance and a vast capture of the soft and peaceful sunset in the late afternoon of a cold winter's day.

I love our recessed bookcase and it was the perfect size to accommodate my Boopsiedaisy and Living Dead Dolls.
