Saturday the West Coast Railway Heritage Park became the perfect venue for our friend's celebration of life. Sheila and I, along with a very large proportion of Squamish residents, gathered to show our respect and love for a remarkable person: Doreen Ramus. A friend of my mother, a friend of ours and a friend of half the town Doreen was a mother, nurse, adventurer, raconteur, actress and a lot more.
Sun poured through the very tall windows where the steam engine is exhibited. There was standing room only.
The juxtaposition of the snow outside and the pussy willows inside held my attention. The little scene was beautiful.
Doreen was 91 when she died earlier this month. A year ago she published her autobiography: My Life's Journey www.amazon.ca/My-Lifes-Journey-Doreen-Ramus/product-revie...

Almost perfectly blown up. She was able to inflate the neck completly without any training and pre-stretching
As Band of Horses played in the background, we took advantage of the amazing light and enjoyed our time in the gardens at McMenamin's Edgefield. Sarah, my beautiful friend, really wanted a photo with the water tower and the sunflowers. I think we got it. <3
I've been on retreat in our Dominican sisters' convent at Stone in Staffordshire. To my delight, it was only a few miles from Cheadle - Pugin's most perfect church.
He called it "Cheadle, perfect Cheadle, my consolation in all afflictions", and intended it to be "a perfect revival of an English parish church of the time of Edward I".

Same scene as this but framed differently. Can't really decide on which among them is better.
I am thinking of upgrading my flickr acct. to pro. My older photos gets deleted every time I upload a new ones, and I don't want to delete them either, though I know they aren't really good photos. :) I just hope I can recover those photos that were deleted.

Taken in front of the Urban Lights installation at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). I saw these two gentlemen by the installation and I absolutely had to take their photograph (with their permission, of course).
Desafio Holográfico #10 LISTRAS
Tchanran!

“Water is the most perfect traveller because when it travels it becomes the path itself!”

This is a beautiful image, in my opinion. That said, I forgot to check my ISO and had it wound up to 1,000 from a previous night of lower light photography. This is a reminder to me to always check my settings before setting out on a new photographic excursion. That said, it may have been a good thing. The camera introduced a little more noise than it would have at base ISO, but the m43rds system tends to render noise exceptionally well, offering a bit of a film like quality. As far as I can tell, the small amount of additional noise in this image actually adds to it, giving a bit of visual "grip" than would otherwise be missing from the digital files. I'm not displeased.
Photo taken with the Olympus OM-1 and M.Zuiko 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro.
Typical 8-Point Whitetail Buck - Shenandoah National Park, Virginia
This particular Buck grew a perfect 8-point symmetrical rack each and every year. Note the date this photo was taken (2/20/11) - and still sporting full headgear. But in recent years, December is the month that mostly all Big Meadows Bucks lose their antlers.
One of the 3 Amigos, of which only one remains alive. RIP 8-Pack.

“Te quiero, cariño, aunque estés hecho de carne y hueso”.
A final try at getting a focus and well timed battery through a Christmas bulb/gelatin combination.
It's perfect.
Even the two flashes manged to fire at the same time.
Cheers.
Just as a Metra express blew past NS 65R at Western Avenue, the crew popped out of the NS 8114 to go home for some rest away from the photographers.
What a way to travel: driving around India in a mint green old Fiat Padmini Premier 137D without mirrors. You need some skills in adapting to the traffic (and the not perfect functioning car), it's quite rewarding once you start touring.
A perfect sunset on Gokarna Beach, an hour or two drive from Goa.
