In my opinion there are no better mornings track side than a crisp, clear winters morning before the sun comes over the horizon to warm the day. On one of those perfect mornings along the south edge of Lake Erie, Amtraks Lake Shore Limited cruises through North East PA just after enough light had risen to make it possible to start a great day of shooting.

The tulip originated centuries ago in Persia and Turkey, where it played a significant role in the art and culture of the time. Most likely commenting on the Turkish tradition of wearing tulips in one’s turban, Europeans mistakenly gave tulips their name, which comes from the Persian word meaning turban.
As Europeans began taking to tulips, the flower’s popularity spread quickly, particularly in the Netherlands where a phenomenon dubbed tulip mania set in at one point during the 17th century.
Tulips became so highly-prized that prices were sent soaring and markets crashing. Tulips are now grown throughout the world, but people still identify cultivated varieties as “Dutch tulips.”
The meaning of tulips is generally perfect love . Like many flowers, different colors of tulips also often carry their own significance. Red tulips are most strongly associated with true love, while purple symbolizes royalty. The meaning of yellow tulips has evolved somewhat, from once representing hopeless love to now being a common expression for cheerful thoughts and sunshine.
White tulips are used to claim worthiness or to send a message of forgiveness. Variegated tulips, once among the most popular varieties due to their striking color patterns, represent beautiful eyes.
On a run "out east" I found this wonderful J&B Leasing Pete at the Plaza on I 80 near Angola, Indiaina on July 8, 1994.
This is one of my personal favorite settings for photography in general but especially for aviation. I often chase this setting (unsuccessfully) looking for cloudy skies to give way to sunlight in the waning daylight hours. With dark cloudy skies in the background and a strong low sun angle there is a nice natural dramatic contrast. For a fleeting moment on this evening, I had my perfect light.

I was already wearing the pink vest when it was time to go out for the afternoon. I wanted something to match it, and the pink in this skirt made it a perfect match for my vest :-)
Drinking halves of ale instead of pints means that I don't build up muscle in my arm lifting the glass. Result; slender arms ;-)
An adult male condor comes in for a landing on a large pinnacle rock formation overlooking a glacially carved valley separating Patagonia Argentina from Patagonia Chile. The Andean condor is the largest flying bird in the world, with wing spans sometimes reaching 10 feet. High speed continuous shooting mode enabled me to capture this sequence of images showing the landing technique of this amazing carrion-eating vulture of the Andes.
it was a stormy afternoon.
with so much dust and cold winds, i went out to shoot near the Al Ghous corniche in Muharraq.
I think Bindi is perfect on so many levels.........her smile, her companionship for me. Or just the fact that today she is wearing the most perfect miniature cable sweater knitted by my friend Gill.
Perfect!

This still remains the best HDR image that I have ever produced. I recently had this printed and was really pleased with the results.

For true love is inexhaustible ....
The more you give, the more you have.
And if you go to draw at the true fountainhead, the more water you draw, the more abundant is its flow.
