The colours at the beach were just perfect today. It was lovely and warm with a cool breeze blowing. I love these days. I would've liked more waves - it was completely flat with hardly any splashes. O well, there's always tomorrow... :)

Unidentified flower in the garden.. am not really sure of its species or of which plant, as it certainly was not one that we had planted.. but I thought it beautiful nonetheless. Thanks to my son, Rushil, for spotting it..

This is what I wait for all winter- A big swell that makes the Waimea Shorebreak get big, clean conditions, and a 4pm sun unblocked by the clouds. It makes this nice backlit wave which I love to photograph.
As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't get any better than this!

I love close up portraits, and I'm not really satisfied taking pictures of someone if I haven't gotten a solid shot like this of them yet. I've failed on an initial shoot with someone, and held onto that thought like a Kardashian holds onto fame for a year. This is the type of shot that drew me in and talked a camera into my hand, and this will always be my favorite type of photo.

When you go explore new areas in a location you have been before, it still does not guarantee results. However, I was blessed with perfect weather and locations for every capture.
Got a set of macro extension tubes. This is taken using the 36mm attached to my 60mm macro lens. I thought about pulling that stray petal off the daisy, but decided to leave it since nature is never perfect by our standards but perfect in her own. Happy St. Patrick's Day folks.
I'm going to shoot a Snooze Buttons gig tonight, which will be so exciting. Alone the gig will be cool but music combined with photography is the best thing I can imagine. =)
