El poble occità de Boason o Bòzols (Bozouls en francès) està situat en un indret molt espectacular, sobretot considerant que tot l'entorn és un paisatge calmat de camps verds i turonets. Però de cop, un cop arribats al centre del poble, et trobes amb un abisme obrint-se de cop. Es el "forat" (trou) de Bòzols, la gorja excavada fa milenis pel riu Dordon (Dourdou)

 

Es curiós, altrament, com l'església de Ste.-Fauste està al centre del meandre/abisme, mentre el centre del poble es troba a la part "de fora".

The Occitan village of Boason or Bòzols (Bozouls in French) is located in a very spectacular place, especially considering that the whole environment is a calm landscape of green fields and small hills. But suddenly, once you reach the center of the village, you find yourself in an abyss opening suddenly. It is the "hole" (trou) of Bozouls, the gorge excavated millennia ago by the river Dordon (Dourdou).

 

It is curious, otherwise, how the Sainte Fauste gothic church is in the center of the meander / abyss, while the center of the village is in the "outside". Clearly there was no space for everybody, up there.

Adofix 1 + 7 (40ml + 275ml) @ 20Deg C

 

3 min pre-soak

Development 30 Sec slow inversions plus 3 bumps on the counter

3 inversions every minute plus bumps x 3

Drain and stop bath

 

Fix for 8 mins with periodic inversions (~ every 1 min)

Wash 4 x 500ml

Final rinse with wetting agent

Another Spring tide

I keep returning to this spot trying to find the image that represents my feelings of this place. This is another angle and just as important, a differernt film developer combination and a new approach to post-processing - I'm getting closer to what I want...

This together with its partner have been (post development) processedwith more than a nod towards Pictorialism (photography as art rather than representation). As such, they are darker than I would normally process them, and they are softer with more subdued highlights. They aim to convey the feel and atmosphere of the places rather than the detail. In them I try to capture how I felt and the memories that they have created.

  

8x10 pinhole camera, Fomapan 100. 21 seconds at f250. Developed in Perceptol and scanned with an Epson V800.

10x8 pinhole , adox100 in perceptol. The aged look came about because I dropped the 10x8 slide in the stream after exposure. I recovered it took it home and never developed it. two months later found the exposed neg stuck to the dark slide when I came to load what I thought was an empty holder. Hence my nail scratches on the left and the horizontal line pattern across the neg . Shot in 2011. Still have the camera and Adox film with 2x 10x8 holders. I remember just the holders + 50 sheets of film cost nearly £200 in 2011. The developing tank I used was placed floating in the kitchen sink and spun by hand. Happy days :-)

Canon T90, Fuji Acros. Developed in Perceptol and scanned with an Epson V800.

Bild von einer Motorradreise nach Wien und weiter an den Plattensee im Juni 1992 mit meiner BMW R80/7, einem früheren Polizeimotorrad, das ich auf einer Versteigerung der Polizei gekauft habe. Ein zuverlässiges Arbeitspferd, aber hinter der Vollverkleidung wurde es im Sommer sehr heiß.

There is not much to play with in the dark shadows.

 

This was an experiment to see how Perceptol @ 1 + 1 affected grain, contrast, tone, etc

 

It was an overcast day with a flat but fairly bright cloud cover, making getting a good image challenging. As can be seen on the water, it was raining at the time.
