got a bunch of beautiful fragrant lilies the other day and just got to taking their photos yesterday. we call them stargazers, and they really last for quite sometime, even after their pollens have dropped off! here is a bud starting to open, and quite interestingly, the pollens are not seen yet, but still are inside the elongated pods. it will take another day for the pods to open up and reveal the pollen themselves. wow!

Happy CrAzY Tuesday, and Happy Shocktober!

It had been a very cloudy and cold day here today, and there was a small break in the clouds and the sun peeked through just for a few seconds.

I was soooo excited to see this truly stunning puss moth caterpillar, which my mum found, happily munching on some willow at Kinnaber earlier this year.

I have more photos to process, and (somewhere) also a photo of an adult that I found near my house last year.

A shy Praying Mantis nymph comes peering out from behind a leaf.

Mealy Bug or Woolly Aphid exposing it self. I walked the path that goes through the woods looking for anything that moved. I saw this little cotton ball moving on a leaf. I was curious, so I took a few pics. My backyard. Central Bucks, PA.

- How did you find me ?

But not Peking Duck! Ha ha... my feeble attempt at a play on words. I took this photo at Glen Burnie Gardens in Winchester Virginia, and the duck could easily have gone under this little bridge, it did not but rather looked very much like it was playing a game of "I Spy". A rainy day here in Virginia so a good one for staying in and just resting. Hope everyone has a blessed Sabbath day. :)

Peek a Boo

I love it when you drive down a gravel road and look over to see a Barred Owl watching you. This guy was so close that I couldn't get his entire body into the frame. St. Charles, Missouri.
