Downtown Dallas' Republic Center seems to peek between a gap made by Thanksgiving Tower and 211 North Ervay.

Baby looking out into sunshine....

Was doing some yardwork this weekend, trying to clean up one of the flowerbeds next to our backdoor stoop. One of our camellia bushes lost a LOT of blooms during a recent bout of severe weather that blew through our area.

In the middle of clearing up all the debris I happened to look inside this ornamental garden stake which always seems to need to be cleaned out. Did a double take when I saw this little face peeking out from under one of the petals. Our first anole lizard sighting for the year!!!

Thankfully it was still hiding when I returned with my camera! I grabbed a few shots before deciding to leave my yardwork for later.

I think he was trying to hide

Leaf Curling Spider (Phonognatha graeffei) female

I have been watching this Lady and her leaf nest for about a week, hoping to get a shot of her out of the nest. She normally retreats if I get within three metres. Today she stayed out long enough for just one shot.

During this heatwave here in western / central Europe, I'm just hanging on like these pretty forget-me-nots: I'm staying in the shade and, at most, sticking my head out into the sun from time to time (I am absolutely no summer person)

Hope you are doing well ... and please stay cool !

Our first peek of color in the yard, one of the Jack Frost Brunnera perennials that show well with the little blooms all through Spring, April, 2026. I just learned that this plant is native to Siberia.
