Portrait shot of a juvenile Peregrine Falcon.

To say I got lucky this day was an understatement. After watching the parents do food passes to the young I couldnt believe my luck when the young falcon landed on the cliff top some 5 metres from where I was stood on the footpath.

A day I will never forget.

Many thanks as always to everyone who takes the time to look, like and comment on my pictures its much appreciated.

A beautiful cat at the local SPCA,

The Tennessee Warbler is a common nectar "thief" on its wintering grounds in tropical forests. Most nectar-eating birds, bats, and insects probe a flower from the front to get the nectar, spreading pollen on their faces in the process. But Tennessee warblers pierce the flower tube at the base, lapping up the nectar without helping pollinate the flower.

One life to explore. Up into the unknown, deep into the dark forest, then out onto the open avalanche shoots, onto the cliffs, and above the world it seems... we find solace, beauty, solitude, comfort, and a connection with nature so great it's hard to understand why anything else matters.

I've announced a patagonia fjords trip: www.depictionsofbeauty.com/Photo-Tours

There has never been a trip there in this price range. It's geared towards amateur photogs turning pro.

Since the pandemic I haven't been traveling and although I miss it I think I have discovered the beauty in simple scenes I may have overlooked before and may not please someone else, but they do please me.

A Common Jezebel :)

Rufous Hummingbird

Sun peeked out for a little while today. Still chilly, but we couldn't pass on the rare opportunity to get some much needed vitamin D.

This squirrel thought I hadn't seen him disappear behind the tree trunk. When I quietly went to look at the other side of the trunk, he came looking too...
