Designing Healthy Communities: Zoning Reform to Inspire Healthy Living

Monday, March 12, 2012

1:00 pm

State House Room 437

Boston, Massachusetts

Join us for a State House briefing on this critical issue. The Act FRESH zoning reform working group in collaboration with Partners HealthCare is hosting this event to highlight the important relationship between public health and land use. Come learn how local planning and updated zoning codes can improve the livability of Massachusetts communities and lead to better health for residents of all ages.

Speakers will include Sen. James Eldridge, representatives from the Act FRESH leadership team, and community leaders from Revere, Holyoke, Lawrence and the Pioneer Valley. Participants will be encouraged to speak with their own legislators following the event.

Special thank you to Partners HealthCare for hosting this event!

Magic Kingdom, Wednesday 24th September 2008.

Mathew Hughes - HSBC, Juke Jordan- Bluegg, Cennydd Thomas - UHY Peacheys and Caroline Holmes - Working Word represent the Fiftyone3 partner organisations.

Not perfectly happy with this, It seems to me the partners get lost in the shot. Would love to hear about possible fixes. Please tell me what you think.

Thanks for looking.

Got into the Magic Kingdom an hour before opening to have breakfast at Crystal Palace. It was kinda overcast so didn't get the awesome pics we wanted but an empty park was awesome.

On the first day of presentations, nine of the 16 emerging leaders took to the podium to present their Action Plans – unique projects and programs they had been preparing for three weeks while at their mentoring sites. The women were joined by their mentors and others partners from their organizations. The Action Plans ranged from new foundations to physical fitness and disability sport programs to community-centered initiatives. Afterwards, the Emerging Leaders relaxed at Cosmic, a restaurant with pizza and pingpong.

“All our lives we search for someone who makes us complete. We choose partners and change partners. We dance the song of heartbreak and hope all the while, wondering if somewhere, somehow there is someone searching for us.”

Delta Partners trip to My Tho

After arriving in Rosario, we went straight to work with GSMP 2013 emerging leader Luz Amuchastegui and the staff at El Desafio Foundation. The day was full of activities, including games facilitated by Drs. Hillyer and Huffman at the local park, conversations with volunteers participants, and Saatchi & Saatchi mentors at the foundation's location, and a debrief with Luz and executive director Mario Raimondi in the evening.

So we finally got our Cast ID's for the Disney College Program here at the Walt Disney World Resort, and my friends and I spent the afternoon at the Magic Kingdom park. If this statue doesn't signal inspiration, I don't know what does.
