This was taken after the concert, was trying to get the marquee title, the Paramount sign had just been turned off, and about 5 seconds after I took this shot, the marquee lights turned off, too....

Back in October I did a Autumn Foliage trip going all around New England and one of our (father and myself) pit stop was just right outside of Boston. We ended up eating at "My Thai Vegan Cafe" just right down Washington St. and I noticed there was a really bright shiny luminous sign just flashing at me like a warning sign saying "Paramount" all over it and eight months later, everything looks the same except the temperature has gone up just a bit so I can lose a couple layers when catching this.

For the last week, Paramount Pictures have been filming a major movie right here at our building! Wow! It’s been really interesting being surrounded by a big movie production and being ‘on set’ (!) every day!

Directed by JAY ROACH (Bruno, Borat, 50 First Dates, Meet the Parents 1 & 2, Austin Powers 1, 2 & 3), the film stars PAUL RUDD (Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You Man) and STEVE CARELL (The Office, Get Smart, Dan in Real Life, Evan Almighty, Little Miss Sunshine, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Anchorman, Bruce Almighty).

Also featured are ZACK GALIFIANAKIS (G-Force, The Hangover, Into The Wild, What Happens In Vegas) and British Comedian, DAVID WALLIAMS (Little Britain).

The film is being produced by Paramount, Dreamworks, and Spyglass Entertainment, and will be released in American cinemas in July 2010.

Visit to the Paramount Ranch on Friday November 1, 2013. From the NPS site - "In 1927, Paramount Pictures purchased 2,700 acres of the old Rancho Las Virgenes for use as a "movie ranch." It was used for 25 years for numerous movies shot by Paramount. It was purchased in 1953 by William Hertz who "built a permanent western town utilizing Paramount Pictures' old prop storage sheds. As a result, television companies began producing westerns at the ranch such as The Cisco Kid and Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theatre." The National Park Service purchased the property in 1980 and revitalized it as an old movie ranch. It was also used for some episodes of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. The park is very cool and there are nice trails around the Western Town. It is a great trip into movie history!

The older tower is this photo is the Paramount Building, 1501 Broadway. The clock tower is distinctive. This was the New York headquarters for the Paramount entertainment business beginning in 1927. On the ground floor was the Paramount Theater movie palace. Paramount still maintains office space here.
