Restored neon sign for the old Paramount Theatre, 817 South Polk Street, Amarillo, Texas. The theatre opened in 1932 and closed in the mid-1970s. I was later renovated and turned into an office building. Fortunately they kept the old sign.

After growing up with Universal Studios, I was jaded to backlots until I visited Paramount Pictures. This lot is small, but stunning in its detail. The buildings are unique and look real from many angles. The architecture is not specific and quite varied, but those details just slayed me. Even the cracks in the sidewalk were planned by an art director. I stayed far too long, but adored the Paramount Pictures backlot.

Paramount Theater at 1621 Glenarm Place in Denver Colorado. Following description from the Colorado Historical Society Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation's website: Temple H. Buell, a well-known Denver architect and the firm was Rapp & Rapp, designed the 1930 Paramount Theater. As a representative of the Art Deco style, the theater stands as the last remaining "movie palace" in the metropolitan area. Designed in the period of silent films, and opened as sound motion pictures became the rage, the theater bridges the gap between two entertainment eras. The Paramount also houses the only Publix One Wurlitzer theater organ to be equipped with twin consoles.

Once a grand Movie theater, Now a Vacant building. In the 80's It served as a great Rock club. Taken with an old Sony Mavica that used a Floppy Disc.
The signals they have keep coming & going! I should've bought that Bob Panich LED signal earlier, but now there's 2 1980s Aldridge 300mm signals.

Art Deco movie theater in Uptown district of Oakland - built in 1931, and was the largest movie theater complex on the West Coast. It seated nearly 3,500 patrons. It has been restored to it's original beauty, and plays vintage movies along with concerts and shows throughout the year. It's really a neat venue - I've seen a few shows here. Inside is spectacular!
