It felt like all I did was pack

Going on holidays to Vietnam for 18 days. I hope 6 rolls of Portra 400 and 8 rolls of Superia 400 will be enough. I'm taking my Yashica, my Canon EOS300 and an underwater 35mm camera. My iphone will serve for instant gratification photos.

I brought the Canon G7 and the Creative Zen 60Gig W mp3/video player. With the 60G Zen, I could bring 40G worth of music and video and still store 20 G worth of pictures, so could leave the laptop at home and thats one big less thing to worry about. I'm quite pleased with the G7 camera. It takes excellent pics and video and its so small i can wear it all day around my neck without becoming heavy and bothersome. Much better than bringing the DSL with an expensive heavy lens and carrying it up and down mountains in 90% humidity, during on and off rain, while holding an umbrella. So much less to worry about with the G7 even though it gives up a bit in terms of picture quality compared to the DSL.

This is what the back seat looked like during most of the trip.

I tend to go a little overboard. In nearly everything. Christopher is away for the week, I called and told him he will be allowed one cup, one plate, one fork, for the next 5 weeks until we move, because I'm packing like the mad-woman I am. He laughed, silly boy.

Packing

The Seattle Flickrites have a weekly challenge for a topic, and this week is 'Heat.' Many people will not remember that 'Heat' is a term used for a firearm, often called a 'Heater.' So, 'Packing Heat' means you would be carrying a concealed weapon.

My weapon of choice in this shoot was a Rock Island Armory Match Grade 1911-A1 semi-auto pistol. It carries 8 rounds in the magazine and 'one in the pipe.'
