Part of a 220-strong crowd that watched the William Hill Scottish Cup second-round tie at the Islecroft Stadium between hosts Dalbeattie Star and Stirling Albion. The South of Scotland League club had a man sent off after 23 minutes and eventually crashed to a 5-0 defeat.
There has to be one of those since it is my environment for a big share of the day at the moment... So happy when they were gone - and dreading the moment when I have to take them back and unpack again...
My roommate is a whiz at packing. She got all her stuff squared away in one full day and a few hours on a second day. We counted, 51 boxes!
I was about to do a bit of a pre-pack for Prague (I'm going there for two months, starting this Saturday - to do an extra teaching qualification) but Habibi fell asleep in the bag and it seemed a shame to disturb him.

After this happened on my block a while back, I dash outside anytime I see fire trucks rolling by. Seems there was a small kitchen fire in the building next door to mine, easily put out in minutes. A "pot of meat" in CFD terminology, I believe. Enough excitement for the afternoon, nonetheless.

As we left to get the ferry on Friday morning, after a quick 4-day visit to get the garden under control after its winter break.

Tomorrow we finally return to Europe! Life at home in Portland is wonderful, but it has been too long since I've seen a medieval cathedral. The trip will be 2.5 months long and includes the Netherlands; Brussels; lots of England; Scotland all the way up to Orkney; N France; Switzerland; N Italy and Rome; Salzburg; and finally W Germany and Strasbourg just in time for Christmas markets.
More trains will be involved this time, so these little bags are all I'm taking! (But what they lack in size they make up for in weight, I'm afraid.) Should be another grand adventure, with many photos posted here along the way.

Anyhow, I took a hot yoga class earlier in the evening. I could have gotten some interesting pictures out of that only if I could feel my hands, or my entire body, during the class. Hot like heck!!!
Hazelnut and Catkin look on as Steph and I begin to pack for the Japan trip. (No, kitties, we can't bring you guys with us!) We leave on Sunday... so four days. Man oh man oh man, am I excited and nervous! It will be an adventure.
