Relocation and Strong Clothing Packing Methods
Packing for a move can be a complex process that can make you feel like you want to pull all your hair out. Figuring out all of the safest and most efficient #packing methods can be a pain. It can be especially frustrating to have to pack valuables correctly. Most people own many clothing items. If you want to pack your clothing prior to relocation, you need to take matters seriously. Packing apparel for a move isn't the same as doing so for a trip or #vacation.
Most people own clothing items that are particularly precious. If you want to keep your clothing in excellent condition after packing, you have to rely on effective and smart practices. If you don't, you could end up dealing with some unsightly tearing, creasing and wrinkling. People who want to avoid potentially harming their clothes during the packing process need to exercise ample caution.
Don't Dillydally
Aim to pack your clothing up as soon as possible. Rushing packing your #clothing can be a massive mistake. It can lead to lack of care. Lack of care, in turn, can lead to careless methods and tearing, creasing and wrinkles galore. No, thank you.
Organize Your Clothing in Advance
Organization is critical for clothing packing success, no exceptions. Don't simply randomly throw your clothing into any cardboard boxes you see. Organize your clothing carefully and meticulously. It can help to divide your clothing up by season or general category. Put winter items into designated boxes. Put lighter attire into their own separate boxes as well. This can keep later confusion out of your life.
Know All of Your Choices
Recognize all of your packing choices. Your goal shouldn't involve simply acquiring cheap moving boxes. It should involve investing in the right boxes for your upcoming relocation. Explore all of your available choices in wardrobe and cardboard boxes alike. Look into suitcases and trash bags as well.
Be an Economical Packer
Everyone knows that #moving can cost an arm and a leg. That's why the smartest packers are the ones who figure out how to reduce their costs in many different ways. If you want to pack your clothing and minimize your expenses considerably, you should figure out how you can avoid paying for boxes. There are definitely many stores out there that sell moving boxes. Their prices are often extremely steep, though. If you want to steer clear of outrageous moving box prices, you can stop by grocery stores near your home to ask if they have any free options on hand. A friendly employee may just give you a few.
Apparel Tends to Be Durable
Packing items can be stressful. The good news is that clothing packing isn't the hardest job out there. Clothing tends to be on the durable side. If you're in a hurry and a clothing item falls out of your hand, you don't have to panic and break a sweat. That's because clothing won't shatter into a thousand tiny pieces.
Clothing Is Usually Pretty Light
There are many items that weigh a lot. Furniture can weigh a lot. Household decorations can in many cases as well. Clothing, however, is a different story. Boxes that hold clothing aren't usually a pain to carry. They're generally pretty manageable.

Littlies need to be strapped into the car safely. All the luggage in the big boot (trunk). And away we go.

About 10lbs overweight and about a gallon too big. Two days to refine the packing list!
If I can't get it down I'll have to use my bigger pack, which doesn't fit as well and tends to give me nasty bruises...

Over 100 members of US Army Europe's 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team along with more than 20 members of the Royal Canadian Regiment, are here in Mirosławiec Poland, training and developing relationships with the Polish military. This week’s guest is Rick Wartzman. Rick is the director of the Drucker Institute at Claremont Graduate University. Before taking this post, he worked for two decades as a newspaper reporter, editor and business columnist. He began his career in 1987 at The Wall Street Journal, where he served in a variety of positions, including White House correspondent, Houston bureau chief, and founding editor of the paper’s weekly California section.
He joined the Los Angeles Times in 2002 as business editor, and in that role helped shape “The Wal-Mart Effect,” a three-part series that won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting. He then became editor of the newspaper’s Sunday magazine, West, which under his leadership was named by the Missouri School of Journalism as the best regularly scheduled feature supplement in America. Boswell and the Making of a Secret American Empire, which was selected as one of the ten best books of 2003 by the San Francisco Chronicle and one of the ten best nonfiction books of the year by the Los Angeles Times. Yesterday I read about a program that uses isight cameras to create time lapse videos called Gawker. I set my macbook up to make a video of some packing we did today. I plan on setting it up on Friday, when we move everything into the truck.
Every room in the home can be a challenging experience for the family on #moving day. However, there are some rooms in the home that may take a little extra time, effort and care than others in the home. One of the most notable is the master bedroom since it can be packed with a lot of nice things that the homeowner loves and want to remain in mint condition throughout the move. Fortunately, for those of you who may need a little help in keeping your efforts from being in vain, here are 3 tips that can help you to accomplish your goal.
Tip #1 – Move Your Clothes First
The master bedroom can present some challenges. Specifically, for homeowners who have a lot of clothing items, shoes, hats and other things in your closet. To avoid traveling to your new home with boxes filled wrinkle #clothing, there are some things that you can do to prevent these issues from happening. For example, you should make sure that you have specialty boxes, garment bags, packing paper and any other packaging supplies that will assist in moving valuable pieces that you do not want to see ruined. The boxes that you prepare should also be available for storing your expensive shoes away too. Therefore, before the day of the move, you should make sure that you have all of the packing supplies that you will need for each type of item that will need to be packed.
Tip #2 – Disassemble the Master Bed
Because master beds can be constructed and dissembled in different ways, it is best for everyone involved to pay careful attention to the details. In fact, to make these jobs go swiftly and much easier, most people will make sure that they have the right power tools at hand for these disassembles. These power tools are great for making sure the screws and nails will not strip the wood or cause any type of damage. Also, once the bed has been taken completely apart, it is important to have the right type of packaging, boxes, wrapping, packing tape, and any other packing and supplies available to ensure the structure of the bed and its materials are well protected for the transport. In some cases, each piece of the bed can be wrapped first in order to provide an additional level of protection for this type of furniture. By wrapping these items in heavy duty plastic, people can avoid damages that can be very costly in repairs.
Tip #3 – Move Other Items Out of the Room
Unfortunately, the bed dissembling is only the start of moving other items in the #master_bedroom. So, it is very important to pay special attention and care with the organization of this part of the process. Typically, the dresser and the drawers are often moved just as is to cut down on any unnecessary confusion and extra effort. However, the items in these pieces of furniture are always boxed up. In fact, pictures and China are moved from the walls and other places and then marked fragile so that they can receive the added care. Especially, when moving these furniture items are being moved from one location to another. In short, the entire room of furniture and other items must be moved strategically.
My packing schedule for the day:
11:30am - wake up
11:45am - watch Jonathan Ross on demand
13:00pm - pack two more boxes, run out of parcel tape and realise only one box left
13:30pm - drink tea, go on a box begging hunt around the village (remarkably successful - car full of empty boxes!)
14:30 - get home, decide to make lunch and drink more tea.
All I can currently think about is what an epic fort I could make out of all those boxes!

The tree is bare, the lights are rolled up, the ornaments are going into their packing boxes for their hibernation until next December. It was a fantastic holiday season.

We are always amazed at the number of cases people drag along when they go on a cruise. We even ran into someone who had a standard carry-on bag just for her shoes! Anyway, pictured above is all we take with us. The exception was our cruise to Alaska where we added a small duffle bag to carry jackets, rain pants, and water repellant shoes. We check the two 4-wheeler cases when we fly and keep the backpacks with us. The backpacks fit under the seat on an airplane where we can easily access them.
OPPS! The picture says "Travel Cases Since March 2016"... SHOULD SAY "MARCH 2015".
The Secret Service established rules limiting the size bag allowed at inaugural events to 8 inches by 6 inches by 4 inches. This is what rode in my bag. There was also a Cannon A1000 riding along.
