The highlight of my Labor Day Weekend was a trip to the top of the Penobscot Narrows Bridge Observatory 420 feet up....the views were literally "breathtaking"!
Prospect Hill, Clarinbridge. An earthen ringfort is located at this site, it has been well preserved and largely undamaged in modern times. Hawthorn trees encircle this site with a number inside and out.
Prospect Mountain overlooks Lake George. There is a lovely drive all the way up to the top for views over 100 miles.
Construction of the houses in Prospect Place, Worthing, began at the beginning of the nineteenth century. It still exists today as a row of flint cobble-fronted cottages, running at a right angle from the sea front, between Marine Parade to the south and Montague Street to the north. The oldest surviving building, now numbered 1 and 1A, is one of the earliest buildings in the town centre, is Grade II listed as is the terrace of of three storey cottages at numbers 10 to 18 that have been dated to probably before 1814.
