The prospect tower at Cotehele. Somewhere, I have a photo of my Dad standing at the top of this tower, taken over 25 years ago - I need to find it!
Prospect House in Combe Street was built in 1728 and was the home and workshop of James Gillingham who was a pioneer in the making of artificial limbs.
Walkers got to know the friendly, historic neighborhood of Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, situated on the “Lower East Side” of Prospect Park, perusing some beautiful brownstones, intersections of interest, community art projects and great green spaces that have made little Prospect-Lefferts Gardens a gem of a district for generations of residents and passers-by. Walkers also saw where a train went off the tracks in 1918, streets that are being re-imagined today and stately 19th century homes that still stand.
