last night was the prospect.everyone block party on julia street, where nola rising hosted an art jail.
i have no idea what the deal was with this dude, but he appeared to be performing some repetitive performance art piece every 100 feet or so down the length of the block party. he was wacky, hitting two sticks together making noise the whole time and not speaking.
Founded in 1858 by early Omaha real estate developer and financier Byron Reed, Prospect Hill is the final resting place for over 15,000 citizens. Many are prominent Omahans who gave their names to Omaha streets, schools, churches and to many Nebraska counties and towns. There are veterans from every American war beginning with the War of 1812 and nearly 100 soldiers who died on active duty during the American Civil War or while serving at Omaha Barracks (Fort Omaha) from 1863-1887.
Once a year, the Prospect Park neighborhood holds an ice cream social, the centerpiece of which is the opening of the Witch's Hat water tower.
