Chippewa SC - 24 Passenger + 3 Crew Medium Lift eVTOL Hybrid

www.ioaircraft.com/vtol/chippewa-sc.php

- Passengers: 24 Personnel + 3 Crew

- Total Length: 47'

- Total Span: 41.5'

- Power: Kero (Jet A, JP7/8) + Hydrogen Fuel Cell

- Propulsion:6X Superconducting Graphene Based EDF's / 2X U-GTG (Unified Thrust Produce Gas Turbine Generators)

- Range:1,000+ NM Kero or H2 Exclusively / 3,000 NM, Both Simultaneously at altitude

- Performance: 450 KT Cruise / 500+mph gs at 30,000ft

- Safety: Aircraft also equipped with a BRS (Ballistic Recovery System)

- Estimate Price in Production: $6 Million Fly Away Price not including advanced avionics/systems.

This aircraft is designed as a super vtol medium lift. In the class of UH-60 Blackhawk's and extensively superior to the Sikorsky V-280 (320mph top speed), except in military configuration double the capacity and a smaller footprint and substantially heavier lift capabilities, along with a split rear payload door.

Control surface on the wings are not hinged, but wing warping surfaces with precision control, allowing for advanced flow of the air stream for optimized performance.

The entire airframe for this aircraft is produced using GRAPHENE and composites with an overall 33X greater strength then titanium but 1/100th the weight, it is also bulletproof through 20mm. The entire airframe stripped, could be lift by hand from 1 person.

Overall, the aircraft weight fueled, is less then a UH-60 empty.

Propulsion for Chippewa SC are via twin U-GTG turbines, which are unified gas turbine generators. These engines, the core of the turbine assembly are super conducting graphene based generators, which for this aircraft would have apx 500kw power output each, without any loss of thrust from thr turbine assemblies.

The other 6 units, are Graphene based superconducting edf's (electric ducted fans) which are able to provide apx 1:1 thrust compared to turbines (jet engines) of comparable scale.

Additionally, The propulsion system comes equipped with Io Aircraft's own high performance vtol capabilities via rotating composite nozzles. It should be noted, Lockheed Martin did not invent rotating nozzles, their own for the F-35 are their own style, but the technology was actually originally developed for the soviet era Yak-141. We have developed our own style using that as a baseline principle. The main difference is these are much higher technology levels, and high speed capabilities.

Turbines can operate on Compressed Hydrogen or Kero, or a combine of both simultaneously. This results in either very long range capabilities, or mission specific.

Additionally, this aircraft is aerial refueling equipped, but integration for both basket and probe type refueling capabilities are built in, for total inter service and nato operations globally. No variation is then required.

Performance of Chippewa SC is extreme, and is able to match the UH-60 Blackhawk capabilities in both slow flight and hover.

This includes radical maneuvering

ZION BAPTIST CHURCH, DENVER. Since 1867, the Zion Baptist Church has provided Christian worship for Denver's black community. It is located at 933 East 24th Avenue in Denver, Colorado. The church began when freed slaves came to join the blacks of the West in the Denver community. "These hardy souls included those that would become the founders and charter members." A group began meeting and chose to organize as the Zion Baptist Church, initially holding meetings at Seventeenth and Market Streets. In the year 1867, the group bought two lots on Arapahoe and Twentieth Streets to build a small house of worship. Under the direction of Rev. R.M. Duling and Rev. J. B. Fields, a new church was built, and the Rocky Mountain News described it as the " finest colored church of the West" in a January 1885 edition. In 1911, the present day edifice was purchased from the old Calvary Baptist Church for $43,500.00, and the Zion members continued their commitment of spiritual service at the new location. The church was granted a $191,000.00 two-year exterior restoration grant in 1991 by the Colorado Historical Society to replace mortar between the exterior stones, and for additional window coverings. It was the sixth grant to be received by Zion. A new doorway was added to enhance the entry of the Church. Between 1994 and 1999, over $431,000.00 grant dollars were received from the Colorado Historical Society. Cleanliness, preservation and restoration of Zion Baptist Church have been achieved by the grounds committee and help from the Historical Society. This has lead to an increased membership, and less vandalism to the Church. In 1999, funds were used for restoration of stained glass windows, roof and tower repairs, and door replacements. The Church is a beautiful structure of stone. Current members of Zion look to their founders with gratitude, and appreciate those first pioneers that traveled so far through the Western Kansas Territory. The Church community of Zion Baptist Church continues to practice their ministry through their many programs, activities, services and worship that take place throughout the year. These include the health education and service ministry, the Christian education ministry, and Bible ministry.

Pleeeeeeeeeeease.

Today I was with family for an early easter get-together/late birthday gift giving because my grandfather, aunt and I are the only ones that have birthdays at the beginning of the year and that always gets messed up. Nearly EVERYONE else's birthdays are around september, which used to make me sad as a kid because I would never get my gifts around the same time as everyone else, and I basically had to sit around when all of my cousins were getting things and be polite and shut my mouth. xD I don't mind it anymore at all (but i was a kid and i was a pouty little thing sometimes, haha!). I got more money for crafty stuff. Yay! Thank you Aunt Jane. =D

So anyway, off with that rambling. My step-grandmother took us to her "southern mansion" (as she calls it; it's more like an antique store gone wrong) to show us her reupholstering jobs. The outside is fabulous, though i totally spaced taking a decent picture. So the next few pictures will be from this place, along with the songs that have plagued me throughout the course of the day. xD

This happens to be today's theme song, somehow. It's been stuck in my head and I've been singing and listening to it all day. I've loved it for years.

You'll walk unscathed through musket fire,

No ploughman's blade will cut thee down,

No cutless wound will mark thy face

And you will be my ain true love,

And you will be my ain true love

And as you walk through death's dark veil,

The cannon's thunder can't prevail,

And those who hunt thee down will fail,

And you will be my ain true love,

And you will be my ain true love.

Asleep inside the cannon's mouth,

The captain cries, "Here comes the rout,"

They'll seek to find me north and south,

I've gone to find my ain true love.

The field is cut and bleeds to red.

The cannon balls fly round my head,

The infirmary man may count me dead,

When I've gone to find my ain true love,

I've gone to find my ain true love.

Your Song - Elton John

It's a little bit funny this feeling inside

I'm not one of those who can easily hide

I don't have much money but boy if I did

I'd buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, but then again, no

Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show

I know it's not much but it's the best I can do

My gift is my song and this one's for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song

It may be quite simple but now that it's done

I hope you don't mind

I hope you don't mind that I put down in words

How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss

Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross

But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song

It's for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting but these things I do

You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue

Anyway the thing is what I really mean

Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

View On Black - not a very good image, it was pitch dark except for the light reflected in the 4 screens of the CAVE and I was taking pictures while using those Martian like glasses :-)

Miguel, Mário, Cristina, Teresa, and behind Mário, Augusto; CAVE virtual reality demo by Miguel at the future science museum that visitors will be able to visit in the future; quite a 3D virtual reality experience; this CAVE is the 3rd biggest in Europe, it can accommodate up to 12 people simultaneously; don´t miss it when it opens to the public

the glasses are not polarized and they don't use expensive sync gear; instead it's based in color filtering enabling a better quality experience when compared to previous techniques; the computer power and the 8 stereoscopic Barko high power video projectors, with the 3D detailed models and rendering, make the visualization pipeline this high quality process

And yes my day thought:

The love is as a balance, in each to bring every day this young something which will make that this balance will remain well-balanced and will hold the shock, in front of tests(events), in front of doubts in front of fears, of the questioning in front of the routine which settles down in front of roads which part and then cross themselves, are made and come undone(crumple)...

In each to look in front of, and next to him, to see what he(it) has, to see his(its) acqui, watch also anywhere but not to forget what he(it) has and and not to look at what he(it) does not have I had forgotten this sentence which nevertheless makes left my life and my values the road was long but I found him(it) I found my balance...

Think of one yes, but not forget the other one, bring every day its small stone to build this balance...

Find the just balance for one at first and for the other one then and if one day the balance breaks down, to say to himself that it will reconstruct with the same nobody or the other one but the perfect balance does not exist (finally it is my opinion(notice) eh:-))

This day thought is for all those that I love that it brings you that she has to bring you thanks to you to make party of my balance and my balance...

The original untextured version can be found in the same set. I was unhappy with the over-saturated water and green in the original background but my attempts to correct that left my lovely niece Daisy dull and lifeless, which, I asure you, would be a false characterization.

Solution (short of better colour-correction skills to begin with): texturing an overly vivid background diminished it's impact, added subtle interest, and most important, ensured focal attention where intended. At least that's what I think I accomplished. Comments, criticisms, and tips for improvement are most welcome.

The texture used (and altered) is courtesy of ground*floor www.flickr.com/photos/chromaticaberrations/ who registered his texture sets with creative commons.

Friend and photographer Brian Gudas briangudasphotography.com/personal/ introduced me to this technique and graciously helped me nail down the procedures for myself. Check out a sample of his texturing work here: www.flickr.com/photos/briangudasphotography/3049407002/. View the large version. Engaging or what!?

This is the walkway between the museum and the house & grounds. It's quite pretty, isn't it? For what it is? (By the way, this is where still two more ladies, a mother and her daughter, accosted me, desperately wishing to know how I styled my very vintage hair. I had more Virginians compliment my vintage style than we could count—it was wonderful!)

For the record, the visitor's center & museum at Gunston Hall is very, very nice. Of course, the house itself, and the house tour, are marvellous; many things that belonged to Mason himself are there.

In the visitor's center & museum, everything seems to be brand-spanking new; it is nicely arranged, quiet and informative...For such a small place, one dedicated to a man far too few Americans know of, they've done a marvellous job. The ladies are very friendly, the pre-house tour movie was good, and the bathrooms are not only clean, they're pretty luxe for a tourist stop (trust me, just trust me and go visit!). We really enjoyed it and would have stayed longer were we not planning to head home that day.

A visit to the Museo Etrusco on the Via Don Giovanni Minzoni in Volterra. Was a lot of Etruscan and Roman artifacts here. Also a back garden.

The Guarnacci museum is one of oldest public museums of Europe: it began in 1761 when the noble abbot Mario Guarnacci (Volterra 1701-1785) gave its enormous archaeological heritage, collected over years of research and purchases, to the "public of the city of Volterra".

The current disposition and location of materials demonstrate Maffei’s positivistic impact, with items separated by classes and the urns distinguished according to the theme of the bas-relief on the case. While respecting the historic memory of this arrangement, an attempt was made, in recent times, to associate it with another, more didactic, chronological tour inside the exhibition itself, able to conduct the visitor through the long history of the Etruscan Velathri.

Museo etrusco Guarnacci

The Guarnacci Etruscan Museum is located in via Don Minzoni in Volterra , and contains one of the most beautiful collections of Etruscan art.

In 1776 the canon of the cathedral of Volterra Pietro Franceschini found near the Etruscan necropolis of the Portone a hypogeum of considerable size dating back to the Hellenistic period, containing forty Etruscan urns, which in 1777 donated to the town of Volterra . This donation was the first nucleus of the Civic Museum which soon collected many other works found in the surroundings of Volterra and which until then had been kept in private collections of noblemen from Volterra.

Among the various donations, the most important and most important was that of Monsignor Mario Guarnacci ( 1701 - 1785 ), a wealthy priest who promoted numerous archaeological excavation campaigns, which on 15 September 1761 donated his entire collection to the newborn museum. He was named after the museum that in over two centuries of history has increased its heritage thanks to numerous excavation campaigns promoted by the Superintendency of Antiquities of Etruria.

The first seat of the museum was Palazzo Ruggeri, home of Guarnacci, later it was transferred first to some halls of the town hall and then from 1877 in the Desideri-Tangassi palace, the current headquarters.

The first Prefect and Librarian of the Guarnacci Museum is the Roman abbot Francesco Ballani , well-known librettist of his time, who was succeeded by Giuseppe Cailli in 1805 until his death in 1810 . Francesco Inghirami ( 1772 - 1846 ) occupied this position from 1810 until 1815 .

I didn't take much inside of the museum, only what took my interest at the time. Was mostly all the same kind of things from the Etruscan period.

On the floor in the middle of the building I didn't get more than these two sculptures. There was rooms with Roman tiles on the floors under raised walkways, and more sarcophagus!

Il Prete Marzio una Statua "Ritrovata"

The Priest Marzio a "Rediscovered" Statue

This statue, known since the early 1600s, was the

the result of a series of "restoration" projects

nineteenth-century, who have joined the stub

of an original statue of a togate of age

Roman a head composed, in turn, of

two different parts and two "shoulders" obtained

from marble bouquets from the

Cathedral of Volterra.

The result is that of a typical pastiche of the

taste of the last century that, until 1922 was

visible on the terrace above the source of

S. Stefano, in the formerly named place

Prato Marzio, from which it derives from the statue -

for corruption - even the name

traditional.

The current restoration has allowed

to remove unrelated parts

and to integrate the original gaps.

The head that today has been placed on the bust

belongs to the collection of the Guarnacci Museum

and it is certainly not relevant.

The type of marble, workmanship and I state of

conservation are however very much win a

those of the togato and therefore allow to give

an image - for example

and didactic - of the original form of the

monument, which by its nature permitted.

The insertion of different heads to the esconda of the

historic moment.

The dam of Mediano is located in the municipal term of La Fueva, to which it was gotten up Mediano in 1974, whose nucleus had been flooded by the dam. It is one of the greater ones of Aragón, with 1,714 Has. of surface and a volume of dam of 450 Hm.3. Its prey leans in the limestone wooded hills that form the straits of El Entremont in the Cinca river, at few kilometers of the tail of the dam of El Grado. It is destined fundamentally to water lands of the zone, and secondly to the production of electrical energy.

--------------------------------

CASTELLANO

The Beach is Closed Until Next Summer - La plage est fermée jusqu'à l'été prochain

- Récré-O-Parc, Sainte-Catherine

- September 3, 2008 / Le 3 septembre, 2008

- I just spent the afternoon in a wonderful nature park in Sainte-Catherine on the St-Lawrence River (Fleuve Saint-Laurent) facing the Lachine Rapids. I had never been there. This is a beach right next to the river at the entrance of the park. I took this photo through the chain-link fence as I was leaving and the sun was setting. The water level is obviously much higher during the bathing season. It was very hot! Our Summer has finally arrived (we had so much rain since the Spring until mid-August.). Now, we have real Summer weather.

An imposing twelve-sided table

Estimate: PHP 1,200,000 - 1,400,000

First quarter, 20th century

Laguna

Narra and kamagong, kamagong inlays

83 x 224 x 224 cm (32 1/2 x 88 x 88 in)

Provenance:

Formerly from the family of Candelaria Moldes Santos, wife of Col. Leopoldo Santos, Philippine army and guerilla fighter during the Japanese occupation

Made in the Bilibid Prison which, from the early American colonial period until the end of the first half of the 20th century, manufactured high quality household and office furniture as part of its program to rehabilitate prisoners in preparation for their reintegration into mainstream society. Their outputs were arguably unrivaled in terms of craftsmanship, design and prolificity.

A rare 12-sided top, made of solid one-piece narra wood, framed by precious kamagong wood carved around the edges with acanthus gadrooning. To harvest wood with a girth this size - over 7 feet across when finished - the felled giant tree must be well over a hundred years old. Each conforming side of the frieze is carved with foliated scrolls centering an anthemion flower inscribed with C-volute. The heavy base is made of two crossed curule seat-shaped legs carved with foliated scrolls bordered by broad kamagong inlays, and undulate with winged rosettes, connected to a huge, turned central cylinder with flutings surmounted by scrolled arches and a finial. The lion’s paws with winged extensions embody immense strength and power.

Overall, the workmanship is quite remarkable, displaying great detailed carvings and decorations alluding to the Italian Neoclassical style that was popular in the early 19th century. A classic, timeless statement piece that will surely draw exclamations of surprise and admiration. Found in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

Jurong Bird Park, the largest one in the world. Taken with Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII.

*****************************

The Superb Starling (Lamprotornis superbus) is a member of the starling family of birds. It can commonly be found in East Africa, including Ethiopia, Somalia, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

This species is 18 to 19 cm (7–7.5 inches) long. Adults have black heads and iridescent blue-to-green back, upper breast, wings, and tail. The belly is red-orange, separated from the blue breast by a white bar. The undertail coverts and the wing linings are white. Juveniles have duller plumage with no more than a suggestion of the white breast band. Their irises are brown, later grayish white, eventually the adult's cream-color.

The Superb Starling has a long and loud song consisting of trills and chatters. At midday it gives a softer song of repeated phrases. There are several harsh calls, the most complex of which is described as "a shrill, screeching skerrrreeee-cherrrroo-tcherreeeeeet."

This species feeds on the ground. (Wikipedia)

*****************************

this afternoon i found this little guy on my patio. he was a little upset but not too stressed now that he's had some food and a dish of cream. he has no tail, is very probably male (but won't let me check to be sure) and is very affectionate. he's met a couple of the neighbourhood cats who dropped by to visit and they all seem to get along decently, so he may have been living with other cats. he wants in my apartment but i've set him up with a comfortable bed and he's found a few nooks in the woodpile and among the plants to hide in.

i've put an ad up on craigslist and attempted to do the same on kijiji (but that site is screwy as hell for me when i want to post - anyone who is a wizard there, please feel free to contact me). hopefully we'll get this guy back home before long. if any of you locals recognise him (or would like to have a very affectionate cat in your home), please get in touch. i've nicknamed him swayback for the moment as he crouches and walks a little oddly - he may have a rear hip or leg problem but it's not bad as he can jump up on my benches easily.

update: i just found out he belongs to a neighbour and he's not an outdoor cat. unfortunately i haven't seen him in a few days, but apparently he was recently spotted so he may get home soon. his name is sailor and he was last seen on salisbury avenue.

final update: sailor's back home after his adventure. a neighbour a block away found him and called his humans, i just found out. good news at last.

From My Blog

I had a series of about 8 shots of this Itsukushima Shrine scene and all I had to do was layer the 0 EV exposure onto the +2 EV exposure and paint the bright areas through on the left side of the photograph and I would have had a quick shot that was natural and pleasing to my senses… No, I had to go and create an HDR version on top of the two other exposures, create a couple of other layers for different colors, LucisArt, and a few filters so I could selectively add them to each area. I seriously spent 2 hours trying to figure out were I was going with this and completely hated it, I was about to just trash it when I found the perfect Nik filter that suddenly created a look that I was happy with.

You are here at the top of the Centro Ecologico Sian Ka'an (CESiaK), located on the Caribbean Coast of Mexico, near the Mayan Ruins of Tulum, south of Cancun. A small ecotourism and education center, it serves as a model for sustainable development in sensitive tropical ecosystems. The revenue generated through tours, fishing, beautiful accommodations, and various on-site activities is used to fund conservation and education programs within the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve...

[See www.cesiak.org/ for further details!]

The Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve has been a Mexican national park since 1986 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

Part of the reserve is on land and part is in the Caribbean Sea, including a section of coral reef. The reserve has an area of 5,280 km².

The reserve also includes some 23 known archaeological sites of the Maya civilization.

From Wikipedia:

20 (twenty) is the natural number following 19 and preceding 21. A group of twenty units is often referred to as a score.

Twenty is a composite number, its proper divisors being 1, 2, 4, 5 and 10. Skipping 2 and adding the other divisors gives 20, hence 20 is a semiperfect number, and since it is not divisible by any of the smaller semiperfect numbers, it is a primitive semiperfect number. 20 is the smallest abundant number that is not a multiple of 3.

It is also the sum of the first four triangular numbers, making it a tetrahedral number.

20 is the atomic number of calcium.

20 is the total number of digits on the human body, which makes it a convenient number system radix; such number systems are called vigesimal. In the former British currency system, there were twenty shillings in a pound.

A polyhedron with twenty faces is an icosahedron.

20 is the number of proteinogenic amino acids that are encoded by the standard genetic code.

Twenty is a village in Lincolnshire.

20 is the code for international direct dial phone calls to Egypt.

Oh, and 20 is the number of my "Explorized" photos: thanks to all visitors!

The Vickers Vimy was designed as a long-range bomber capable of delivering a one ton payload to central Germany. Deliveries to the RAF began in October 1918, just too late to see operational use in World War One. However, pioneering flights across the Atlantic, from England to Australia and London to Cape Town would ensure its place in aviation history.Brooklands Museum - Explore

This modern reproduction was commissioned by Peter McMillan in 1994 to re-enact the type’s three long distance flights of 1919-20. Its first flight was made in California on the 30th July 1994. In 1994 it flew the epic 75th anniversary flight to Australia, piloted by Peter McMillan and Lang Kidby. In 1999 it successfully flew to South Africa, piloted by Mark Rebholz and John LaNoue and on 2nd -3rd July 2005, the Vimy achieved the ultimate goal when Steve Fossett and Mark Rebholz successfully re-enacted Alcock & Brown’s trans-Atlantic flight from St Johns, Newfoundland to Clifden, Ireland, in just under 19 hours.

In 2006 ownership passed to the American ISTAT Foundation and the aeroplane was maintained to airworthy standards at Dunsfold Park by Brooklands Museum volunteers. It was finally donated to Brooklands Museum Trust on 26th August 2006.

Since 2006 the Vimy has represented Brooklands at a number of occasions including the Farnborough Airshow, the Goodwood Revival and the 2009 Connemara Airshow in Ireland to commemorate the 90th Anniversary of Alcock and Brown flying the Atlantic. The decision was taken to retire the aircraft from flying (see the full reasons on our Vimy Retirement page) and on the 15th November 2009, its last flight was to the grass landing strip at Mercedes-Benz World. See a 10 minute film by Andy Lambert of the arrival at www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHPe79Bhvb4. The Vimy was subsequently taken by road to the Wellington Hangar at the Museum on the 19th November - see Andy Lambert’s film of this at www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjepleZp7vI. The Vimy Exhibition was formally opened by Peter McMillan at the Museum’s Vimy Day on the 21st November 2009.

A Mais Bela Flor

Querendo ver-me livre do garoto com sua flor, fingi pálido sorriso e me virei.

Minsk is one of the oldest towns in Eastern Europe. First mention was in 1067 as a town of the Duchy of Polock. Minsk is now the capital and largest city in Belarus, situated on the Svislach and Niamiha rivers. It has stood for over 900 years. However most of Minsk has been rebuilt after it was reduced to rubble by the Nazi's during World War II.

The historical centre was replaced in the 1940s and 1950s by Stalinist architecture, which favoured grand buildings, broad avenues and wide squares. All the buildings of Minsk downtown were created in different years. But all of them are unified in architecture composition. Minsk is reminiscent of the Soviet era with its prominent KGB building, and Soviet images and symbols lining its streets.
