"The Garden of earthly delight" is the name of a painting by Hieronymous Bosch or Jeroen Bosch, a dutch early renaissance painter.This is the rear of the "Hof van Coolhem" (the name means "Garden of Coolhem" in Dutch, Coolhem being the name of a medieval hamlet) In the 13th century monks built a monastery here, the monestary was destroyed in later centuries and later on came this stately home or estate.I used to work here when I was employed by the municipality of Puurs, my hometown.Together with the caretaker and gardiner of the domain we kept the grounds.That was some odd twenty years ago.This domain is open for the general public and is situated in the town of Puurs, province of Antwerp, Belgium

The Gage Homestead, built in 1796, captures the way of life during the early 19th century. The Gages worked the land with their ten children and became a strong voice in the hamlet of Stoney Creek. During the War of 1812, the family fled to the cellar as the Battle of Stoney Creek raged outside. The Battlefield Monument stands as a symbol of peace and commemorates those soldiers who died on June 6, 1813.
Nestled under the Niagara Escarpment, this historic site is located on 32 acres of park land linked to the Bruce Trail, Canada's oldest and longest footpath.

Solo un segundo antes de escuchar el sobrecogedor impacto del cuerpo estrellándose contra el suelo pedregoso, mi mente se ilumina con una chispa de luz, con un póstumo aliento de cordura que resulta suficiente para comprender que no es ella si no yo quien tan vertiginosa caída está padeciendo.
Luego ya apenas queda nada, solo el horrible ruido del crujir de todos mis huesos contra un lecho de sombras y ese dolor intenso, punzante, que como el canto de un grillo atraviesa mis tímpanos y la razón desde la calurosa noche de una inusual, incipiente y anómala primavera.

The original Guadalupe tilma or cloak – a coarse fabric made from maguey cactus fibers – on which the image of the Virgin Mary is impressed now hangs in the high altars of the Guadalupe Basilica in Mexico City, the most visited Catholic shrine in the world. This oil on canvas painting by an anonymous Boholano painter is based on the original tilma but with several additions, as has become customary, to include vernacular diagnostics and sensibilities, making it singular and uniquely Filipino. The Virgin has heavy lidded eyes and her neck is ringed with prominent folds, which are unmistakable traits in Chinese sculpture and painting, and, thus, evidence of the strong influence. The overall vibrant coloration, especially vermillion and ochre yellow, is intensified further by the application of gold leaf on the lining and decorations on the garments, which is a practice frequently seen in wooden de bulto santos produced in Bohol. The spired structures at the bottom corners are in reference to the church that the Virgin asked Juan Diego to be erected at the site of the apparition in her honor. Beautifully framed in tiger kamagong wood surmounted by carved foliage, it is fitted with glass – which can be removed if desired – for added protection from dust and other elements.
The story of ‘Our Lady of Guadalupe’ began when the Virgin Mary made several apparitions to a Chichimec peasant named Juan Diego in 1531 at a place called the Hill of Tepeyac, formerly belonging to the Aztec Empire, which, in turn, later became part of Villa de Guadalupe in a suburb of Mexico City. One day, the Virgin arranged the rose flowers in Juan Diego's tilma, and when Juan Diego opened his cloak before Archbishop Zumárraga, the flowers fell to the floor and revealed the image of the Virgin on the fabric. One of the earliest miracles of the tilma was the full recovery of the sick uncle of Juan Diego after being shown of the image of the Virgin Mary. The devotion became ubiquitous in Mexico and throughout the Spanish-speaking Americas. The devotion to the Virgin of Guadalupe was introduced to the Philippines by the Augustinians at the Nuestra Señora de Gracia Church in San Pedro de Macati in 1604 upon the request of Spanish residents. In 1935, the Virgin of Guadalupe of Mexico was accorded the title ‘Celestial Patroness of the Philippines’ by Pope Pius XI. Juan Diego became the first Catholic saint indigenous to the Americans when he was canonized in 2002 by Pope John Paul II.
This oil painting was a cherished possession of Mr. & Mrs. Romeo Bauzon, owners of R.E. Bauzon Antiques shop on Mabini St., Ermita, Manila. Author Esperanza Bunag Gatbonton requested Romeo Bauzon’s permission to use this painting as cover for the book to be published in 1990 focusing on the Virgin Mary as she appeared in Philippine art. Several years after Romeo Bauzon’s demise in 2004, Romeo Allanigue, a highly respected santo collector and scholar, had the privileged opportunity to buy the painting from Bauzon’s widow, which he has kept and cared for until recently.

From within flickr we’ve thought of creating a silent movement to express solidarity for the Tibetan people.
We would like to hang a banner with a photo of Tibet and the words Free Tibet next Monday so that everyone who belives in this cause solidarizes and hangs the photo during the whole day.
If you think this is Ok, you only have to copy the photo you see and hang it on your page.
Lets make this small gesture for the people of Tibet.
Queremos criar no Flickr um movimento silencioso para expressar nossa solidariedade ao povo tibetano:
Exibir uma foto semelhante a esta, com a bandeira do Tibet e o lema Free Tibet, ou "Liberdade ao Tibet" ou "Tibet Livre"... na próxima segunda-feira.
Propomos que todos aqueles que são solidários façam o mesmo e deixem a foto exposta o dia inteiro.
É apenas um pequeno gesto individual; mas, no todo, pode significar muito para o grande povo tibetano.
Abbiamo pensato di creare dentro Flickr un movimento silenzioso attraverso il quale esprimere solidarietà al popolo tibetano.
Vorremmo appendere uno striscione virtuale con una immagine e le parole Free Tibet. Lunedì prossimo, affinché il movimento abbia forza, chiunque creda in questa causa dovrebbe mettere sul proprio book quest’immagine e lasciarla per l'intera giornata. Se pensate che l’iniziativa sia giusta dovete semplicemente copiare questa o una qualunque immagine del Tibet e metterla sulla vostra pagina col le parole “Free Tibet”. Cercate di fare questo piccolo gesto simbolico, per il popolo del Tibet.

Il Filorosso nasconde in sé tanti significati …il coraggio, l’azione, la volontà, l’amore, il conflitto, la consapevolezza, l’inconscio, la forza, la rab...bia, la passione, i legami, il contatto, l’energia…
Avvicinarsi al teatro vuol dire andare a cercare, scoprire, guardare quel sottile filo rosso che ognuno di noi ha in sé…
…Filo che tiene unito tutto come mani intrecciate in un girotondo…
