Well, she opened a pack, and posed with one pea nearish her mouth. It's the closest I've so far gotten to shifting a pack.

the peas and mangetout were sown under some large plastic cloches to warm the soil and protect them during the cold nights in the first weeks. it worked really well- I have the same system going this year.
I know some of you probably don't like insects, but I think this little Pea Weevil (Sitona lineatus) is rather cute. We woke the poor little guy up while he was sleeping in the chard that came in our organic veg box, so he's a pretty healthy snout-nosed beetle! He ran around the top of our colander for a bit which gave me chance to get this photo.
