A Common Carder Bee enjoying a late harvest from a Narrow-Leaved Everlasting-Pea (Lathyrus Sylvestris). Seen at the side of a footpath near Wigan Flashes, Lancashire.
I found this flower on an 8-foot tall plant growing in my backyard. Never having encountered anything like it before, I spent over a week trying to identify it. It wasn't listed in my reference guide books. Other names it goes by include budda pea, hard shola pith, Indian jointvetch, and trailing sesbania. It is a member of the pea family and is now producing seeds in long skinny pods.

Looking across North Pond from Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, the sun sets into a cloud bank in the western sky. Pea Island is located on North Carolina's Outer Banks just north of Rodanthe.
Peas are grown on both sides of this dirt path leading all the way down to Tuyền Lâm Lake in Dalat, Vietnam. This garden is currently being farmed by a husband/wife couple who probably won't be there long as their farm and the adjacent lands were already sold to a developer planning on turning this area into a lakeside mountainous resort.
The first Sweet Peas are up and out with their curling tendrils wrapping around everything in sight.

'SUMMER 2022.'
A vibrant pop of colour amid scorched grasses and ripened cereal crops. This little patch of Everlasting Pea was impossible to ignore beside of one of the many permissible tracks crisscrossing Salisbury Plain.
Originally classed as a garden escape, the plant is now widely established in other places. However, this one was growing close to a derelict building, so I suspect was intentionally planted sometime in the past. Anyway, it drew me to a screeching halt in order to make images and certainly relieved the monotony of a sun baked landscape!
The sweet peas have started to bloom and of course there is a Sweet Pea Fairy in my garden ;) I rerooted Alice a year ago, how time flies! :)
The pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) is a perennial legume from the family Fabaceae. Since its domestication in South Asia at least 3,500 years ago, its seeds have become a common food grain in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
