I wanted these salt and pepper shakers of peas with smiley faces, but they were never restocked. I got these instead to sort of satisfy my desire for the cuter set. I'm thinking maybe I can paint faces on them?

Back in the day my grandmothers made this dish, my mother made this dish and my husband's mother made this salad. I have been making it for years as well. You can't get anymore retro...I veganized this many many years ago. The secret is to layer it. It is so pretty. Recipe is in the Easy Vegan.

The new peas and pod have arrived from kitlane.etsy.com! Oh how I love these little guys...They live on the top shelf of my dining room hutch.:)
