Leyland PD2 with Roe bodywork at Aldwark Rotherham South Yorkshire January 2023. Part of the South Yorkshire Transport Museum vehicle collection.
New in October 1958 as Glasgow Corporation Transport L163, this Leyland Titan PD2/24 with pneumocyclic gearbox and fitted with Alexander H33/28R body carries registration SGD 65.
Now preserved, it is seen at the GVVT Museum at Bridgeton, Glasgow on 5th June, 2016.

Inherited from Ramsbottom Urban District Council on the formation of the PTE in 1969 and still carrying Ramsbottom livery.
Leyland Titan PD2 / 12 - Met-Camm H59RD
New to Trent Motor Traction ( 1023 & 780 ) during March-1957 . Coming to this Operator A1 Member , Brown , Dreghorn in February-1978 .
In spite of its livery this vehicle was not used on A1 Service Routes . It was acquired by Gilmour , and not licenced for road use , and was a source of spares .
KCH123 is in the Operator’s garage yard , at Crosshouse , near Kilmarnock , Ayrshire , Scotland .

Also at Lesneys Hackney factory on 12/8/68 is Ex Trent No.731 (DRC941) , a 1953 Leyland PD2/12-Leyland. The KSW behind unfortunately was parked too close for a shot.

A 1949 ex-Stockport PD2, still in service in October 1974. Photographed at Leek Bus Station. If that driver, proudly standing in front, was a career busman, he might have started work in the 1920's!
There appears to be a Premier Travel Reliance behind on its way to Clacton!

388KDT was another 1963 Leyland Titan PD2/40 which had been bought as a chassis only and fitted with the Roe built body removed from former trolleybus 395 to become Doncaster Corporation Transport 189 and 477NDT a Leyland Titan PD3 /4 with Roe bodywork. Along with ex Sheffield City Transport HWB243J Daimler CRG6LXB, they are seen at Leicester Avenue depot, all part of driver training fleet. Both the Leylands are still in existence, 388KDT preserved at the South Yorkshire Transport Museum, Sheffield while 477HDT was last reported in Ketchikan, Alaska.
This bus took part in the Greater Manchester Transport Society's Trans Lancs Historic Vehicle Rally at Heaton Park, Manchester in September 1993. It's a 1964 Leyland Titan PD2A/24, and the programme of the event said this about it:

Blackburn Corporation 33
Entered by Blackburn PD2 Preservation Group
The last of the class in passenger service when withdrawn in March 1981.
Restored in the 1972 livery of cream and green.'
It was originally delivered to Blackburn Corporation in March 1964 and entered service with fleet number 33 on 1st May 1964. On 1st April 1974 it passed to the Borough of Blackburn as a result of the reorganisation caused by the Local Government Act of 1972.

LCO is in Bretonside Bus Station , Plymouth , Devon . Preparing to head out of town to Shaugh Prior , located on the Western fringe of Dartmoor . Working on Plymouth Joint Services route 60 .

UI 4306 was a Leyland PD2/1 with a Leyland H30-26RD body. It was new to the Londonderry & Lough Swilly Railway Company in 1949 as Lough Swilly #63. After withdrawal from service in April 1972 it went to Mason in Carndonagh and was later converted to hardware store.
This is one of a number of Lough Swilly negatives I have purchased recently. I have tried to find information about the vehicles and locations. I would estimate the dates to be in the mid 1950s. They are, I think, a record of the social history of the period and several employees of the company appear in them. Any more information would be gratefully received.

The front exit fully-fronted bodywork was an excellent match for the Weymann bodied batch of Trolleys.

Nearly 50 years separates these two buses. Representing the modern scene is Cardiff Bus Enviro 200 CE63 NJZ working the company's Service 96. On the right is a 1965 Leyland PD2/Massey - LNY 536D, which is based at the Cardiff Transport Preservation Group in Barry. The double decker was operating trips around the Barry area as part of an open day at the Cardiff Transport Preservation Group.
The full effect of the very traditional Todmorden livery , including all the 'normal' cream bands, is here seen on No.352 , being a Leyland PD2/1 dating from 1950. It is posed in typical Northern Mill scenery. 8/5/71.
The first half of a batch from a Bradford visit in Apr,69.
Turning into Leeds Road on 25/4/69 are Bradford Trolley No.714 ( Orig.1945 Karrier W , rebodied East Lancs 1960)and Leyland PD2/3-Leyland No.572 from 1949. The bus was withdrawn later in 1969.

An acquired print about which I have been able to find out very little. At the time this was taken I believe that Brixham bus station was up and running. Therefore Bank St./Brewery lane must have been closed as the vehicle is coming up the road at the side of the station, before heading back into Market St and through Bolton Cross. (ap-034f)

No passengers for Plymouth Corporation Transport Leyland Titan PD2 of 1956 358 MCO658 as it rests at Plymouth Bretonside bus station on a very wet day in August 1980. The vehicle is now in preservation.

Leyland PD2 with converted open-top Weymann body in Liverpool city centre Merseyside July 1997. New in 1965 to Southport Corporation Transport as number 54, then later to Merseyside PTE as number 0654.
Bradford PD2/3-Leyland No.572 from 1949 seen near Forster Square on 25/4/69. The trolley wires show that the system still operated - the last to run in Britain , closing in Mar'72. No.572 was withdrawn by the end of 1969.
A case of right place, right time here!
The latest addition to West Coast Motors' City Sightseeing Glasgow fleet (1999-vintage President-bodied Trident) is seen alongside one of the longest standing members of the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust at Bridgeton (1958-vintage Alexander-bodied Leyland Titan PD2/24) on George Square (Queen St side), readying to start on the City Tour & finishing the last free shuttle run of the day from Bridgeton (as part of the GVVT's monthly open Sunday) respectively, which runs from May to September; ending with the Trust's annual Open Weekend in October.

This 1948 Leyland bodied PD2 was still in service in March 1974. The depot was in actually in Blackpool, at Squires Gate. Note the tram lines.

At the terminus of Route T in Middlesbrough , Teesside . Where I appear to have caught the attention of the Bus Conductress !

Southport all Leyland Titan PD2/3 106 (GFY 406) unusually based on the South Coast of England looked in fine fettle as it attended the Worthing Bus Rally which was held on July 31st 2016. This was one of a batch of fifteen 96-110 (GFY 396 - GFY 410) which were new to the Corporation in 1950.

New to this Operator during June-1956 . Converted to Driver Training vehicle in December-1969 .
FYS654 was posed for us in Larkfield Bus Garage , Glasgow , Scotland.

Leyland 6RT ( PD2 ) - Leyland H56R
New to London Transport ( RTW 497 ) during November-1950 .
Sold to PVS Sales , Upminster , East London during June-1966 , passing to Super Coaches , Upminster . Then on to this Operator .
In later years this Bus has been Preserved .
Leighton Buzzard garage yard , Bedfordshire .
Saturday lunchtime 23rd-January-1971 .
If anybody can fill in the gaps after its LT Career , I would be appreciative .
