1965 Leyland PD2/40 with East Lancs H36/28R. After buying my first house in Adswood this was the service that took me to work. Returning in the evening on either a Tiger Cub or Leopard.

Former Stockport Corporation Leyland PD2/1 308 EDB562 is seen in the Temple Primary School Car Park, having been displaced from the Museum of Transport, Manchester, by their 'London Bus Day' on April 19th 2009.
RUF186. Former Southdown fleet number 786 this is a Leyland PD2 with Beadle H59RD bodywork.
One of a batch of 12 similar vehicles delivered new in 1956.

East Yorkshire Motor Services LAT68 a Leyland Titan PD2 with a Roe Beverley Bar body which was new in 1950.
CDB224 - Leyland-bodied Leyland PD2/1. New in 1947 to North Western, it remained in normal passenger service until withdrawn in 1965 and then surviving as a driver training bus until withdrawn in 1972 by SELNEC PTE (by which time they acquired North Western).
It's seen welcoming visitors to the main Trans Lancs event being held here at Heaton Park on Sunday 4th September
new to Delaine in April 1956, in use with them until 1978 and bought back for restoration in 1992. Seen at Big Bus Day 2015, Hull Museums

MBF Show Bishopton 2013. Another fine model belonging to Dunfermline Dave and basking in the sun at the MBF show is this Rennies Leyland PD2 from the fleet of Fishwick of Leyland and superbly detailed.
This nice PD2 was in a batch of ten, 161-70, CEO948-57, new to Barrow, in 10/1958. Two are preserved, this and sister 170, CEO957, with the Barrow Transport Group and 165, CEO952, is still in existence, albeit in open-top form with an open-rear staircase. 169 is seen here at Grand Prix Coaches, Brough, Cumbria, when on display at the 18th. Kirkby Stephen and Brough Classic Commercial Vehicle Rally, on 26/03/2016. It was making a much welcome re-appearance on the rally circuit after several years in store awaiting a new engine. The paintwork only needed a good clean and a touch up. © Peter Steel 2016.

Worthing Bus Rally 2013
This smart PD2 is from a batch of ten, 161-70(CEO948-57), new to Barrow, in 10/1958. Two are preserved, this and sister 170(CEO957) with the Barrow Transport Group and 165(CEO952) is still in existence, albeit in open-top form with an open-rear staircase. 169 is seen here at Morecambe, having just departed from opposite the Winter Gardens, when operating a return trip to Carnforth while at the RVPT Running Day on 29/05/2016. It is making a much welcome re-appearance on the rally circuit after several years in store while awaiting a new engine. The paintwork only needed a good clean and a touch up. © Peter Steel 2016.

I seem to remember that the bus had slid down the hill on black ice and the driver Mick Pass managed to stop it just short of a large hole in the road. I was on my way to college at the time and just happened to have my camera with me.
1973 was my last year as a student conductor at BCT and this was one of the buses i worked on that summer season.
The bus was taken out of passenger use in May 1974 and was used as a DTV 1974 - June 1976. It left Blackpool Transport in July 1976

Leyland Titan PD2/3-Leyland O56R. {1947}. Preserved. Dunbar Rally, 26 August 1979.
Recently repainted and about to go on hire to LT as a training vehicle, RTL 1427 was regular on the rally fields for many years. It is now located in (New Zealand.) Shoreham!!!! Not quite so exotic. I must have dropped line when reading my notes when putting the captions together. Thanks for the correction.
..and not a Routemaster, despite the RM plate! Think the PD2 was from South Wales originally. Stretched NY Taxi alongside, this was massive!

Manchester PD2 with lightweight 'Orion' bodywork still has some of the vinyls on it from its filming back in 2008 for Heartbeat series 18 episode 9; 'The Hospital Job' first shown on 03/05/2009 when it appeared as the bus for travelling Taoist Monks.
The bus hasn't been on the road since but a recent change of ownership within the Museum will see it having further restoration work being carried out over the coming months and a welcome return to the road for this former playbus

3228 was the 29th out of a batch of 65 PD2s (3200-3264) that were the last buses to carry bodies to Manchester's own pre-war specification. The vehicle entered service in October 1951 and was finally withdrawn from service, having latterly been used as a driver training vehicle by SELNEC, in 1971. 3228 was repainted in March 1997 into a slightly modified version of Manchester's later almost all red livery.
