Platform Tents are another Outdoor Sleeping option at Birch Ridge Camp.
The flaps can be lifted for access and ventilation. A family of baby mice showed us how important it is to drop the flaps after each use.
Big Green Egg Chiminea . The cone comes off, and I have the cooking grill, but have not used that yet. The grill and stand are optional too.
Summer Sociables: a nifty little booklet glued on the inside of Better Homes & Garden, August 1959. Illustrator: "M. Trinque".
I like how Mom gets into it, complete with fisher hat and all.

Mr Chiots and I spent a week traveling through New England, mostly Maine. We enjoyed camping on the ocean for a few days. Camping is such a wonderfully relaxing thing to do. There's nothing like cooking breakfast and enjoying coffee while watching the tide come it.

Sizzling the bacon on the top of the stove. In the centre is the okonomiyaki pancake. Once the pancake is 'the colour of a fox' on the underside, it's time to put the bacon raw side up on the pancake, squash it down, then flip it over. Once it's cooked on that side too, you flip it back over again and add okonomiyaki sauce, ao nori, bonito flakes and QP mayo. Delicious
At the farm in Moeiwadi, rural Isan, Thailand, early August 2016, right after we moved out of Bangkok
Covered Barbeque Cooking: a booklet that came with the Weber Covered Barbeque Kettle. No date or illustrator given.
The cover is so-so, but I really dig that lettering. That's what piqued my interest.

"...prevent your getting burned"? Is that right?
I love that two tone font for the "Grillette." Might have to crib that someday. Mark Simonson, can you do something about this?

The day after my birthday we went to a crab break at my friend Esti's house.
Esti was a neighbor and a babysitter of mine when I was little, now she's super glamourous: she owns 3 of the hottest restaurants in Boston and she's married to the bassist of American Hi-Fi. But they're still real people and just as comfortable eatting pot roast with my family as they are having a gourmet meal.
This crab bake is a year tradition for them (although this is the first year I've gone) and this year they had a pig roasting on a spit.
