Utata's Iron Photographer challenge 138 asked for compositions with:
1 - something intended to bring luck (horseshoe)
2 - something used to repair stuff (clamp)
3 - shot on a countertop (a circular saw table)
All editing was done within Olympus Viewer 3 for a primitive, retro feel.

This color version originally attracted my attention, but I was in a BW state of mind when I uploaded the first version.
The bus arrives at the end of a rainy school day.
Details:
Trying the high speed, low res mode. Processed in DXO Photolab (distortion reduction, Silver EFX pro film simulation) then Lightroom to enhance contrast.
Not everyone gets the point of a parasol.
It isn't practical for rain,
It hardly blocks the sun.
But it casts a nice dappled shade,
in a stylish way,
And is certainly more functional than balloons!

My Thursday walk with a camera included the obligatory trip to the playground. It was windy and cold, with uninviting ice under the swings, and soon empty of children.
This image has many elements we are told to avoid but it best conveys the feeling of being there.
The swing, the beat, the rhythm and flow;
The music lifts our pulse and our glow.
The soft humidity of the night
cushions the clash of the Zildjians
While the soft melody of stroked keys
floats above our heads.
In a dark room with low lights
with the poetry of sound flooding around us.
And the murmur of soft conversations
fill the silences between sets.

This composite is from a sequence of photos taken at a museum. I imagined viewing an installation through the 'ghosts' of passing people, as generated by the Harris shutter effect, might express the liminal experience of people interacting with the art.
Details
This modified Harris Shutter Effect image generates colored "ghosts" on a black background. Things that move and other differences between three more-or-less sequential photos are emphasized while static features turn black.

美しい脚についてのエピソードは、誰でも、持っていることだろう。人体の中で、最も特徴的で美を感じやすいのは顔である、その次は、おそらく、脚である。脚は、その部位の大きさと、身体を移動させるという役目とで、その存在感は、大きい。その脚が美しいということは、なんという幸運だろう。美脚の持ち主は、脚の美を、十分すぎるほど、自覚しているはずである。
であるからこそ、個々人の脚の美を、定着し、表現することが、写真の重要な使命であると思う。

1. Something used for a past-time or hobby (film)
2. Something which smells good (an orange)
3. A dreamy processing style (Topaz Studio dreamy day preset)
The initial color image was composited with two B&W images before cropping and processing with Topaz Studio.

単純だが美しい。それは「事実」だからで、借り物でもなく空想でもない。ある時ある場所での現実を、光を機械がとらえたままを表現しているのだ。

固い感じ、鋭い感じの脚。脚の美は女性の脚に極まる、この脚は、無骨でもあり、魅力に乏しい。特に左脚の膝は、問題である。にもかかわらず、あえて出しておく。

Technical Trivia
Topaz Restyle blended the native color palette with one from a yellow-tinged cross-processed Kodak gold 400 image I admire (overexposed 3 stops and push-processed 3 stops).
Habitat rupture suspected.

For Flickr's 21st birthday i decided to visit utata's iron Photographer Challenge 21. When i read the challenge it brought to mind an earlier imagined science fiction scene from the unwritten script "Alien 42: The Vegetarian", built around an orange and orange fragments:
