Before the attacks yesterday, I did do some candid shots of Paris life in the early evening....people just had no idea.
Later edit: This shot is on the rue de Seine, about 2 miles from the Bataclan...about 15 minutes before the shooting started.
In ordinary life we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.

A new photograph, inspired by the beautiful song that gives the image its title.
Light Sequent played me the song, which I didn't know.
Following the video (particularly nice, for once), I decided to take two photographs in 1:1 format and join them together to tell the story.
The first is similar to what happens in the video itself, while the second is a fantasy, inspired by one of the fantasies present in the video but not shown in the video itself.
I hope you like it.

Graphic preset and Windlight created by me.
No post-production, apart from the addition of my graphic logo.
The first pose was created by Aspyxia, who very kindly created the mirror version.
Both poses have been slightly modified.

It is the ordinary things I am enjoying during this holiday season. It is the birds that still visit in our backyard even when it snows. It is that snow globe feeling these days as the snowflakes alternate in coming down heavy and then lightly. It is the quiet, cozy gathering of friends over a warm cup of coffee or special drink at coffee shops or homes. It is the gifting of small gifts for special friends or family members. It is that indulgence in special holiday treats and then going for a workout at the Y on my time to balance out the guilt and pleasure. It is watching a small rural community Christmas Parade. I hope you are experiencing some of that, too.

An ordinary garden rose taken last late spring in a corner of the old garden. She survived the session without any damage, natural light only sunshine, no tripod or sprayer, and only a dark A4 sheet was enough for the background.
