As usual the spring comes with a little color and warmth here in the north. The stillness turns into storm and back. Just an ordinary spring.
The water goes away letting me get to my favorite location. A picture from a birchland, close to the city.
Thank you for all the coments and favs, my friends.
“To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
~ Elliott Erwitt
Nothing more ordinary than the side of the road...
Extra-ordinary: Just an ordinary echinacea flower, gone to seed in the middle of an ordinary cold winter day, covered with ordinary ice crystals.
Thank you Mother Nature for each and every day <3
The only difference between a extraordinary life and ordinary one
is the extraordinary pleasures you find in ordinary things

No matter how common a rose can be it's beauty is difficult to ignore.
Thankfully these mini roses are growing well inside my apartment.
Have a nice day, Flickr friends!

I'm glad you guys liked my clover pic from yesterday. Here's another one! See the dew bokeh? I took this one in the morning as well...I love getting out there when all of this clover goodness is surrounded by beautiful morning light and dew. Everything is so quiet and beautiful. I'm getting on a clover kick now so you might see more. :) Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
"Creativity doesn't wait for that perfect moment.
It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones."
-- Bruce Garrabrandt
"Ordinary miracles,
One for every star.
No lightning bolt or clap of thunder,
Only joy and quiet wonder.
Endless possibilities,
Right before our eyes.
Oh, see the way a miracle multiplies."
Lyrics from "Ordinary Miracles" (1994) written by Marvin Hamlisch, Marilyn and Alan Bergman. Performed by Barbra Streisand.
The joy of this time of year for me as the winter season turns slowly to spring is that one day when I go for a walk a branch juts out or hangs within my view that is ready to burst forth with new life, be it flowers or foliage, and the next day when I walk past it, it can be ablaze with blossom and buzzing with bees. An example of this are flowering gums where the flowers hang in seemingly lifeless and hard pods one day, and then appear in a bright burst of stamens like a firework in brilliant colour. The bees love fossicking in these flowers for polen to make their delicious, sweet honey. Mother Nature surrounds us with beautiful, ordinary miracles, if only we pause to stop and notice.
"There's a pleasure in being reminded of the value of ordinary life."
- Karen Thompson Walker

“The whole world is a series of miracles, but we’re so used to them we call them ordinary things.” - Hans Christian Andersen. Today was a grey day with most of our snow melted. I tried some ICM to see what kinds of scenes work with this technique. I like what I got at the base of the falls. What I will do differently next time is use a neutral density filter to cut down on some of those highlights. It was a great day to experiment and see the ordinary in an extraordinary way.
