We today can hardly be expected to understand how liturgy could be considered seriously as the basic condition for doing theology, even less as the law which founds or constitutes the law of belief, so long as we perceive liturgical worship as a pastel endeavor shrunk to only forty-five minutes and consisting of some organ music, a choral offering, a few lines of scripture, a short talk on religion, a collection, and perhaps a quick consumption of disks or pellets and a beverage.

Wednesday-Macro or close up

Just taping up some boxes and I thought how simple things can have visual interest.

One of my favorite things to photograph is the simple beauty of the ordinary. Here is my fish waiting patiently for his bowl to be cleaned. It just caught my eye and I thought it was a lovely ordinary moment.

sometimes i feel almost inexpressible awe about ordinary moments in life, like when early-morning sun illuminates dew-covered grass. this is an ordinary scene at a nearby park. the magic comes when i pause and recognize its extraordinary beauty.

My first attempt at night photography. The insects seemed a lot more cooperative than during the day.

Just love returning in this place and every time I get a different light, a different projection of this place full of magical views.

Vignettes of Cork : Beauty in the Ordinary

Who you gonna be?

The owner of the moon,

A soon forgotten hero with a never fading bloom.

Who you wanna be?

When you realize you're failing all the time,

Who you wanna be?

Where do you wanna go?

When you leave your past behind,

When you move yourself in circles

and there's nothing left to find.

Where do you wanna go?

When you feel there's nothing left for you to do.

A simple image easy to just walk past. I think the composition and juxtaposition with the soft organic clouds in contrast to the hard edged signs is interesting. The coastal walkway to Oneroa passes Cable Bay and Owhanake Bay. I believe these cable landmarks are now disused but cables came onshore to this spot supplying the island with electricity from the mainland back in the day.

A contrasty image from one of our regular walks up and down the Mt Wellington volcano here in Auckland. I like how the late morning sunlight illuminates the clouds and path and creates a strong contrast from the sunbeams. Just another of those enjoyable random everyday moments in life.
