Someone, maybe a couple, some time ago no doubt enjoyed sitting here chillaxing and appreciating the nice view over the Estuary. Maybe they had a cup of something to go with the experience. I wonder what happened to them. The seating arrangement is now in need of some TLC before someone can enjoy this setting again. A glimpse of a story from someone's life. I like the highly contrasty presentation with the image taken in the middle of the day. Enjoy.

Freightliner 'Cans' 86639 & 86637 scream south through Winwick 10E on Day 4 of the GB Railfreight Charity 'Out of the ordinary Tour.'

Starting at Glasgow Central in the morning with the Cans on from Carlisle to Crewe, handing over to a pair of 50's for the leg to Paddington via Shrewsbury and Banbury.

The pair of GBRf 73's seen on the rear here worked the final leg in and out of Paddington taking over in Hanwell Loop before the final leg to Eastleigh in the evening.

Once home to Healy's Pharmacy, this corner building at Massachusetts Avenue and 3rd Street, N.W. was built in 1890 by Julius Germuiller, a son of German immigrants.

This structure—long vacant and now surrounded by huge new buildings—is typical of hundreds of houses and commercial buildings in late 19th-century Washington that were built by this Washington-born German-American architect/builder, the son of German immigrants and parishioners at St. Mary's Church.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Ray Milefsky, we now know considerably more about Germuiller's life and career.

For several years, the mortar and pestle on the rooftop disappeared. It's good to see it has returned to the building.
