I have been obsessed with soft boiled eggs lately but for the life of me cannot figure out to cleanly peel an egg. I always end up with chunks removed so if you know any secrets, please share! My heart tells me I must study more composition because this feels so awkward but I ended up eating my props before I could try again. I considered removing my Fitbit before shooting but it is part of who I am and have been wearing it for just over 4 years now. So in addition to daily photography, health and exercise are also my passions. What are yours?
An ordinary garden rose taken last late spring in a corner of the old garden. She survived the session without any damage, natural light only sunshine, no tripod or sprayer, and only a dark A4 sheet was enough for the background.
Forest in a natural state of light and green. Ordinary, one would say, and on the picture sure! It is the state of being there at the moment that breaks the ordinary. The picture hardly speaks that way, but the memory is there. That makes it not ordinary...

When I took this photo I intended to just get a photo of me and the sky.
But then I looked at the camera and I saw this heart cloud right above me.
Then I started looking around the sky and it wasn't there, so I figured some angel was hanging above me today and it was there to remind me that I am loved. :-)

This is not the panorama I had envisaged in my mind. But it's been a while since I last stopped off here and i had forgotten that the soldiers don't face exactly where I thought. I suppose it was Guy Martin's Channel 4, Arctic Warriors, programme this week that made me think of going to the Commando Memorial while my wife got her hair done.
I did want the panorama to only have the commandos in shot against a panorama of snow covered mountains. I extended my tripod to full height and clipped my D750 to the top set on self timer (20 seconds, and with rear preview screen set facing downwards. Pressing the shutter button, I hoisted the tripod so that just the bottom of the legs were in my hands and then reached my arms above my head so that the camera ended up about 11-12 feet above the ground. Peering up I tried to aim the camera whilst using the level guide on the screen. Whilst my hands froze I got my shots, but as of yet I haven't untangled the miriad of shots and merged them together successfully. In the meantime you get the ordinary perspective, albeit in a panoramic format.

This is just an ordinary day
Wipe the insecurities away
I can see that the darkness will erode
Looking out the corner of my eye
I can see that the sunshine will explode
Far across the desert in the sky

Un giorno come un altro...in un altro posto, in un altro mondo.......
An ordinary day...in an another place....in an another world
Just proof I took Lilith out of the box too. I'm not happy with the results, but I know I have to work on my posing skills.
