The Little Rock National Cemetery borders Oakland Cemetery. I found the contrast of the military order in foreground against the "chaos" of the civilian cemetery in the background interesting.

Late night chicken nuggets run with my girls. Still can’t dine-in in this crazy world we live in. Hope things get back to normal soon.
I am going to take some time and stop uploading photos to flickr for a while. I need a little break from flickr and photography to get inspiration back. I feel like I am only shooting f*cking annoying pictures one after another... I'll probably stop my activity on flickr completely for some time, so please excuse me for not answering your comments.
Besides, I should consider very seriously to face a photography project on my own, as a challenge to see if there really is some talent or vision or whatever on me or it's just a lot of free time taking stupid photos. I am not saying "oh poor me, i'm so mediocre" but only that I feel like it's time to start thinking photography seriously, and try to put a clear intention on my work, not just casual street shots or friends and family portraits; and feel like I am really taking a quantum leap.
Maybe tomorrow I'll change my mind and start uploading tons of photos to flickr again, but for now, I want to take a break and think about it.

Old London Road is also home to Kingston Antiques Centre, where there are more than 100 dealers offering a startling array of antiques and quality vintage items. The large, rambling building provides space over two floors and has retained some of its original features that provide nooks and crannies framed by an imposing double staircase.
Well-known within the antiques trade it attracts dealers from all over the world and is a favourite filming location for the media, hosting programmes such as Bargain Hunt, The Bill, House Gift and Law & Order.
Specialist dealers here offer everything from furniture to clocks and watches, silver and gold items, mirrors, paintings, sculptures and prints. One of the largest collections of vintage jewellery in the south of England is also housed in a series of cabinets lining the walls. While the Vintage Fashion Room features a collection of clothes from the 40s, Retro, 80s plus designer wear.
My Lego.com May 4th Star Wars Day order came today! I got the Star Destroyer with a free Admiral Yularen figure and free Star Wars Episode 4 - A New Hope poster! Pretty awesome stuff. :)

Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork, Poland
This 13th-century fortified monastery belonging to the Teutonic Order was substantially enlarged and embellished after 1309, when the seat of the Grand Master moved here from Venice. A particularly fine example of a medieval brick castle, it later fell into decay, but was meticulously restored in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Malbork Castle is located in the north of Poland, on the east bank of the River Nogat. It is the most complete and elaborate example of a Gothic brick-built castle complex in the characteristic and unique style of the Teutonic Order. The style exemplified here evolved independently from those which prevailed in contemporary castles in western Europe and the Near East. This spectacular fortress bears witness to the phenomenon of the Teutonic Order state in Prussia. The state was founded in the 13th century by German communities of military monks who carried out crusades against the pagan Prussians and Lithuanians living on the south Baltic coast, as well as against the Christian Kingdom of Poland. It reached its greatest influence in the 14th century. The castle-convent embodies the drama of late medieval Christianity, straining between extremes of sanctity and violence.
Since the second half of the 18th century, Malbork Castle has provided one of the major sources of fascination with European medieval history and its material remains. Its recent past also illustrates the tendency to treat history and its monuments as instruments in the service of political ideologies.
From the 19th century to the present day, Malbork Castle has been the subject of restoration work that has made an exceptional contribution to the development of research and conservation theory and practice in this part of the world. During the course of this work many forgotten medieval art and craft techniques have been rediscovered. Extensive conservation works were carried out in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Following the severe damage it incurred in the final stage of the Second World War, the castle was restored once again.
Apart from its legacy as a material remain, Malbork Castle is also deeply rooted in social consciousness as a significant and emotional symbol of the history of Central Europe.

I printed the design onto plain printing paper, and sealed it in a layer of cellotape, giving it a clean and high quality look.
The helmet is fully hand painted. I started by sanding down the front and sides of a regular trooper helm, and then re-painted on the details. Note the front breather and the different side stripes.
Legs are from a 2015 official stormtrooper. Gun is also custom painted. (proper upload coming soon)

Actually, this is my first order for Lego (or Lego stuff) other than from Lego.com.
I ordered 4 M1 helmets, a G36 (cause i love it), an M4, a PSG1, 4 M67 grenades, a World War Weapons Pack (for my History class), and my free weapon was a silver AK. Brickarms rocks!

Twelve telephone boxes, first one upright, the rest gradually falling over like dominoes. The upright one should have a working telephone providing a constant public performance with a highly visible landmark for Kingston upon Thames. The telephone boxes are not just a parody of artists minimal boxes they also have a huge public recognition factor.

The classic K6 red phone boxes are no longer confined to the use they were intended for, they can now be bought and transformed into art installations or talking points for the home and garden.
Returning to Tuolumne Meadows feels like going home and an evening in Yosemite's largest Alpine meadow can be a deeply moving experience. The crystal clear waters of the Tuolumne River meander around a bend reflecting Lembert Dome, Dana Peak and Mt. Lewis as sunset settles in just as high Sierra storms blow out creating that perfect moment. It had been nearly 40 years since I had dipped my feet in the icy cold waters of the Tuolumne. This had been my childhood playground and as crazy as the world gets this place is always there for me to return to those memories spend camping and fishing in Yosemite's best kept secret.
This may look like an early spring day but this was the middle of July. A recent storm had dumped snow atop Dana Peak and as the sun broke through the storm clouds it illuminated the snow like a distant beacon. Knowing the only good shot was in the middle of the river I shed my shoes and waded into the depths of the river. The icy water and river pebbles stung but the beauty of the place outweighed the momentary pain till my feet became numb. The calming effect of all the nature around was incredible and I didn't want to leave it behind but I know I will be back in short order for another visit with the meadow.

Status: Winter visitor from NE Canada, Greenland, Scandinavia, Russia & Siberia - most occur between September & April.
Conservation Concern: Green-listed in Ireland. The European population is considered to be Secure.
Identification: Shares the same kind of habitat as Turnstone - rocky shorelines, headlands, islands and harbours - sometimes on sandy shores where rotting seaweed is piled up. Roughly same size and shape as Dunlin. Its non-descript, dull, slate grey plumage with dark streaks make it surprisingly difficult to see against seaweed covered rocks. Legs are yellowish orange, bill is fine and slightly downcurved, yellowish at the base with a dark tip. In flight, wings and upperparts a uniform dark grey, with just a thin white wingbar. Feeds mouselike right where waves break on seaweed-covered rocks and is easily missed - often first making itself visible by a quick flutter to avoid a crashing wave. Not common - usually in small flocks of about ten birds and often associates with Turnstones.

Call: A distinct but quiet "chit, chit".
Diet: Feed in areas overgrown by seaweed - gastropods and other molluscs mostly. Locate prey by sight, and also feed on the larvae, pupae and adults of kelp flies.
Breeding: Breeds in tundra habitat, mountains and rocky shores in Iceland and Scandinavia.
Wintering: Occurs at many rocky shore sites and harbours all around the coast.
Where to see: Quilty in County Clare is the best site (up to 300 birds), Outer Ards in County Down, Rockabill, Skerries, Howth, Dun Laoghaire harbour and the Dalkey Islands (County Dublin) and Annagh Head (County Mayo) also support high numbers (35- 95 birds).

Milwaukee Road FP7's 105A and 95A at Elgin, Illinois on January 16, 1966, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 105A was built in September 1952 (c/n 16946) on EMD Order 3130A, retired in August 1976, sold to Precision and scrapped. Number 95A was built in July 1950 (c/n 10333) on EMD Order 3050A, retired in January 1976, sold to Precision and scrapped.
A newly minted member of the Amaranthine Order walks the path of B’alam on his way to his knighting ceremony. The walk takes a week to complete and the inductee can only take with them what they can carry in their armor and or a small bag.
