In order to make myself use up this embarrassment of tshirt material, I am instituting a Plush a Day Challenge to myself. Essentially, I have to make some sort of plush creature every day.

If you open a jar of sleep peas (only one or two will fit in a jar) and eat them for dinner, you will conk right out for nine hours straight! Ongoing experiments have been testing the potential to just eat a bite, and have a really good nap. So far, the results ar... ZZzzzzz.

There have been sporadic outings of the new Fastrack IE's over the past week or so, but Tuesday 29th April 2025 I believe was the first time that numerous examples were used in public service. Route A was the chosen route and despite not having any charging facilities at either end, it does pass the depot so examples were generally replaced after two or so rounders to "top up".

It all started at around 09:00 when IE32 LJ25 BSV was sent out this being replaced by IE33 LJ25 BSX and then itself by IE30 LJ25 BSO. The latter two then rotated through out the remainder of the day.

Seen here is Go-Ahead IE33 LJ25 BSX turning at Greenhithe Station whilst working Fastrack route A. Tuesday 29th April 2025.

Jedi Knight Tan Larek was dispatched by Republic Command to assist with the what would become known as the Siege of Mandalore. As the 501st, led by former-padawan Ahsoka Tano, sweeps the upper levels of the capital city, Larek's clone forces attempt to cut off Maul's Mandalorian reinforcements in the lower levels.

Death Watch forces have rallied with Larek and his men and together are defeating the resistance. With the lower level secured, Tan Larek starts working his way deeper into the city. He can hear Tano and her units fighting off in the distance. He can tell that she's moving into the palace, probably to confront Maul himself.

As Larek looks over his shoulder, he seens his clone commander turning off his holoprojector. "Yes, my lord," said the commander.

"New orders from up the chain, Juca?" asked Larek.

"Yes, sir! After all...a good soldier follows orders."

Commander Juca turned his blaster on the very Jedi Knight he has served for years.

"What are you doing--"

Check out my entry for the revived Dark Times group! I had a lot of fun doing my own take on Mandalore as seen in the Clone Wars! It was a pretty rushed build, but I think it turned out okay!

Through the creations that I build, I hope to inspire other young (or perhaps older) LEGO builders to unleash their inner creativity. We all need a positive way to express ourselves, so let's allow LEGO to be an extension of us. Your creativity belongs to you, and nobody can take that away. Build what you want to build, and how you want to build it. Creativity Never Ends!

Palermo’s Palazzo delle Poste e Telegrafi (1929–1934)

Your frontal composition is perfect for this building because it was conceived as a demonstration of strict order and modular clarity. Designed by Angiolo Mazzoni in the language of Italian Rationalism, the post-and-telegraph headquarters asserts itself on Via Roma with a deep, temple-like portico of ten colossal columns and a heavy entablature. Behind that disciplined façade is a reinforced-concrete frame clad in locally quarried Billiemi stone, laid out with rigorous symmetry around two side courtyards. The frontality of your shot heightens the building’s serial rhythm—the equal intercolumniation, the stacked horizontal bands, and the measured void of the portico—which are all about efficiency, legibility, and civic monumentality. Even small details were designed for coherence, from the custom metalwork to the calibrated lighting, and the entrance sequence pivots around a large elliptical staircase that dramatizes movement within an otherwise tightly ordered plan.

The interiors extend this programmatic clarity into a visionary register: the Conference Room carries five Futurist panels by Benedetta Cappa Marinetti—a cycle on land, sea, air, telegraph and radio communications—made specifically for this building, with additional works by Tato and Piero Bevilacqua, plus a bronze Diana cacciatrice by Corrado Vigni. Reading the architecture through your frontal view, you’re foregrounding exactly what the project celebrates: communication, modern services, and a state-of-the-art public machine expressed through proportion, repetition, and an almost didactic symmetry—without needing any extra scenography.

Struggled with the naming of this. So with the new Star wars trailer out yesterday, i thought I'd do some different designs for the First Order. Then I thought, why not do them following on from the lengthier clone wars universe I've got going on. Though tbf, that's all too far in the past to actually affect any of the sequel trilogy stuff, but we'll gloss over that. So, this First Order is made up of (L to R):

Captain Phasma - After the destruction of the Supremacy, Phasma somehow managed to survive. Thought dead by the resistance, she was able to infiltrate the criminal underworld, donning armour obtained from a sale on a small planet named Tatooine. With her disguise, she hopes to get close enough to the resistance to learn their plans, and destroy them once and for all.

Supreme leader Hux - After Snokes death, Hux was quick to rise to power. Despite the tantrums thrown by Kylo Ren, Hux was generally accepted by the first order as its new leader.

Kylo Ren - Since Snokes death, Kylo has fallen even further into the clutches of the dark side, now influenced by another, he grows more powerful by the day, feared by his allies and foes alike.

Grand Admiral Thrawn - After regrouping with the remnants of the Empire all those years before, Thrawn was finally ready to exact his master plan: Seize control of the galaxy from the new Republic. Though it had initially shown promise, it quickly became exactly like its predecessor. The constant debates, the corruption all made it unfit to control the galaxy. It was with this that Thrawn decided a temporary alliance with the First Order would be necessary to achieve his goals.

Emperor Rae Sloane - After the exodus of Imperials from the Galaxy, Rae Sloane found herself in a predicament. Abandon the Empire she loved, and survive, or reforge herself as its leader, despite the many risks that responsibility would entail. She decided on the latter, and soon became Emperor of the Imperial remnants, preparing them for their glorious return to the galaxy. After Thrawn joined her, the two set about a plan. They agreed that powerful as the First Order was, it was disorganised, run by those she considered to be children. Hell, if Hux was in charge, everything was bound to fail. And so, Thrawn and Sloane approached the First Order, offering allegiance in wiping out the remaining New Republic forces, and the Resistance, all while secretly working on their own plan to overthrow the First Order and take control of it's vast military, properly preparing the galaxy, and the chiss ascendancy, for the crisis that Thrawn claimed was getting ever closer.

The Benefactor - A mysterious benefactor appeared shortly after Snokes death, offering guidance to Kylo Ren, offering him the knowledge he needed to seek out his enemies and destroy them once and for all. But who could this mysterious benefactor be?

So that's the First Order/Imperial allegiance. Story's not great for this one as, well, I didn't really have much of one in mind. Might be interesting to come back to, but I probably won't. I do have a resistance side put together though, so keep and eye out for that. So, as always, lemme know what you think :D

Les choses etant ce qu'elles sont la galerie est momentanément supendue, jusqu'à nouvel avis. Merci

Things being what they are the gallery is temporarily suspended, until further notice. Thank you

One of the first façades I captured in Lisbon recently. Its order, combined with the warm colours and a pleasant human touch stole my heart instantly.

Wonderful Wednesday to you.

Once fairly commonplace for long distance freight, JR Freight's EF66's have more or less disappeared from daily service. Only one train in Tokyo, at least until the timetable revision in March 2026, has an EF66 in scheduled service. Train 2067 is an overnight intermodal operating between Koshigaya, north of Tokyo, via the Tokaido Main Line to Kudara Intermodal Terminal in Osaka. It's only a matter of time before this will be replaced by an EF210, but until then, these 1990's built classics will run the mainline.

Here EF66-131 leads the 2067 train through Nishi-Kokubunji Station minutes into its journey to Osaka.

Every traffic cone should be given an eviction order.

Eviction Notice Basics

You may need to evict a traffic cone for one reason or another. Generally considered the first step in the process, an Eviction Notice tells the cone to vacate the property. Using an Eviction Notice helps ensure that the process goes smoothly so that your traffic cone can move on, while also establishing a record of your eviction attempts in case you need to pursue further legal action.
